Re: Article on the NRA

In talking to a staffer within the last few months, the person pretty verified some of what the article mentioned. Staff morale was low, pay was low Wayne and cronies making a crapload. The person did comment that as depressing as the state of affairs were, the membership still has the power to "rig...

Re: Timney Two staged triggers for Sako rifles

I put one in my Tikka Forester .260, shot it in Ridgway. Easy to install, great trigger. Al Bean

Good timing was just thinking about your Spring Shoot. Was a lot of fun, we'll ran and extremely competitive. Definitely plan on being there. Al Bean

Re: 17a Inserts

Oh I hope I'm wrong, totally agree with you regarding the "charm" of lever action. I enjoy shooting Steel targets as much now as when we started 30 years ago. That being said I'm still not buying LT Stock in the game, lol. Al Bean

Re: 17a Inserts

looks like the race is on. cla is going the way of smallbore rifle. There is some hyperbole for ya. With fiber optic sights and lenses being legal, I really don't see how one can object to truly traditional, period-correct apertures. That's exactly why I personally don't care that much either way. ...

Re: 17a Inserts

No, frankly I didn't even think about it. I did jokingly suggest we should just go to Reflex sights. I told him I wasn't for the change, but wasn't adamant about it. I bought a full set of fiber optics from Brian last spring and never even used them and may not, lol. I do know there were a number of...

Re: MARLIN CL 32-20

I'm not the anal reloader, but definitely first time through I full length and trim back...get them uniform. Also, few times when I forgot to to bell case mouths got some weird bulges(and crushed a couple). Back in the day for Hunter Pistol used Blue Dot. These days I'm using 4227 and the 100 gr Hor...

Re: Front sight problem

What Al said, follow through, watch front sight and try seeing animal fall. I will add concentrate on keeping cheek welded to stock. Work at visualizing and internalizing what a good shot is, it takes a lot of concentration. To many people don't and often reinforce bad habits. If none of this works ...

Re: Tikka T3's on sale

Was in town to party at my cousins house, bought a .260 Forest for a casual HP Hunter rifle per Al's comments. While there also purchased a lefty .30-06 stainless Hunter for my kid. They have pallet's and pallet's of them. Al Bean

Re: 30-30 chicken load

I tried that trailboss load with Sierra 100 gr plinkers was very accurate out of my 336A. But was to wimpy, actually ding donged a chick. Also the absolute lack of recoil was somewhat unnerving. I've shot Hornady half jackets in front of H110. It taggs them pretty good, and is accurate. But, when sh...
