Re: Cheap(er) spotting scopes

I got lucky and scooped the newer Kowa 800 series with the 27x IIRC long eye relief eyepiece for around $400 years ago. I looked through cheaper glass and it works well for what it cost but there are definite weak points which is why they sell the higher dollar scopes I guess. That said even the Kow...

Re: What Happened to riflesilhouette.com?

Might be able to find a cached version of the site somewhere online if you dig around and get some content off of it still. Hows the saying go, no one cares or complains about any grey area shooting rules unless you win =)) If you are last place or close to it no one cares. I found this cache of the...

Re: new springer.....

Atomic is pretty much right on IMO. A TX can make a great training rifle once you learn to hold it consistently and very easy to work on yourself. You can also get 12 ft lb springs for them to shoot softer and not be so jumpy in the hands when fired. I can't believe you never noticed the no look loa...

Re: Whats The CZ452 of air rifles

I'd say Dustin is right on in his analysis. Although I would consider a nice used 10m rifle PCP or SSP if you want a self contained air supply. They will run you a few dollars more but comparing an Olympic 10m rifle even older ones and their superior triggers to a New Benjamin M-Rod its night and da...

Re: new springer.....

If you want similar shooting characteristics from another rifle I'd look into the FWB300 variants. A TX200 is a full power spring gun that will have noticeable amount of extra jump and cocking effort. They can be highly accurate and I love my Paul Watts tuned TX. Having shot all these rifles the TX ...

Re: Retiring from silhouette-FS in Pa.

The point was I can show you any picture I want. That doesn't mean I have the gun just because I produced a picture of a gun for you to see. I guess I've just seen so many scams I'm saying be cautious pic or no pic.

I think that cinder block looks to be 1/2" over NRA regulations for height. Did anyone put it in the jig?

Re: Retiring from silhouette-FS in Pa.

When it comes to high end items and pictures I have come to learn just because someone posts pictures of an item still doesn't mean they aren't trying to scam you. At least you can try and do a google photo match to see if the images were lifted from another website or ad listing the gun for sale. I...

Re: Are Remington products as crappy as I have read?

I had Evelio build a custom rifle from a cheap .243 short action off a 700. Put it in a Pharr stock and Kreiger barrel chambered for 6.5x47L and it shoots lights out under 1 MOA and way better than I need for offhand =)) I stuck with the stock trigger because it honestly is pretty damn nice and brea...

Re: Experimenting with a Yong Heng 4500 PSI compressor.

Okay, after much delay in shipping of fill adapters and foster connections I have finally been able to use this compressor! So far I must say I am impressed with the little pump. I have filled my 4500 PSI Walther Hunter cylinder but only pushed it to around 4000 PSI so far as I want to slowly work m...

Re: First Air Rifle Silhouette Match at ARPC

All those are good options. Just be careful of scammer listings on the used sites and forums. If they won't call you to talk and have some sort of history be very wary. The way I have always pitched the expense of a nice 10 meter rifle to shooters is in the cost and convenience to shoot. Nothing is ...

Re: First Air Rifle Silhouette Match at ARPC

Congrats on your 1st match! We had the same thing at the tart of our air rifle matches just 3-4 then a few more and I think we got up to 3 relays or more with 2 sets of resets used on good days. I hope to get an air rifle match going here sometime in the future if I can find interest when I hit the ...

Experimenting with a Yong Heng 4500 PSI compressor.

I just got a one of those Yong Heng HPA 4500 PSI mini compressors. I only intend to use it for fill the rifle air tubes themselves so the run time will be just a minute or two each time to top off the cylinders. I see guys using them to top off full sized portable tanks as well but the run times to ...

Ah I had no idea there were issues with getting new members able to register here. Is Mike still webmaster of the site? I filled out the other survey.
