Re: Bergara B-14R 22LR

I am still befuddle by this "Precision" rifle designation that has crept into the shooting sports as of late. Are they trying to tell us these rifles are better than a out of the box Anshutz or similar high end rifle. I'm not debating the Bergara is a class act but come on don't we know better that ...

Re: costs on approved matches

Does anyone really know how this system works? Beginning with the poor introduction by the NRA to the total lack of timely posting of scores and apparently no way to verify what current class a shooter is in, how can we expect them (NRA) to be forthcoming with anything. Maybe we're still in "BETA" t...

Re: 2019 PA Lever Action Regional

Here's the SB Scores. Matt Pavlik & Joe Zewe had a perfect 40. My pics aren't the greatest either. Couldn't get close enough, too many people trying to see the results. What a great match !!!

Re: Any rule changes ?

I'm almost sure that a host club needs to have both SB and HP with at least 10 banks for SB. Don't know how many for HP. There aren't many of these clubs around like Ridgway.

Gas prices Ridgway

Here's a heads up if you're coming in from the north on Rt 219. At the junction of Rt 219 & Rt 6 (Lantz Corners) There's a Sheetz and a Dandy Mart on opposite corners.. They've been known to have gas war ever so often. If the price is better than $2.95 (Ridgway Sheetz & Kwik File) it's worth a stop....

Re: .357 or 30-30 for Rifle silhouette

Wasted too much time when I started Lever Action trying to get a 375 to work on 200 meter rams. Get a Win 30-30 for about $600 and save yourself the aggravation.

Re: More newbie reloader questions

Sporty,
I'm getting great results with Rainer plated 125gr at c/p/t with 13gr of HMR 4227 and Rainer plated 158gr at Rams with 7.5gr of Unique. Rifle is a 357 Rossi 24 inch Octagon.

Re: Group Size?

Curious why you would ask for 100 yd. when distances are 200 - 500 and 100 accuracy probably is not linear.

Re: .30-30 case resizing Yes/No?

I just started to have problems with my 30-30 reloads sticking in the chamber after firing because I wasn't full sizing. I'm currently full sizing ALL my 30-30 brass. Extracting some of the spent shells really got be worried that one would stick in so bad it wouldn't come out. For bolt guns, yes nec...

Re: Ridgway Super Shoot 2019 on concrete

Awesome shoot. Sorry I'm going to miss it this year. If you shoot both guns you'll be firing 400 rounds in 2 days. 3 matches on Saturday and 2 matches on Sunday. The Standard & Hunter Gun matches are run simultaneously. With 4 relays you shot Standard, spot, shot Hunter, spot and repeat. Where else ...

Re: Reloading

Let's get serious about reloading...nobody can afford to spend 10 minuets loading one cartridge with that Lee reloader. You're going to need 40+ cartridges for a match. You will NEED to invest a certain amount of money say about $150 to get started. So either do it or continue to spend $$$ trying to...

Sporty: Have you tried Magtech: 357 MAG 158GR LFN Muzzle Velocity 1085. I used these a long time ago before I got into reloading.

Re: 260 Rem Loads

Dang9 and everyone else: Thanks for the help and suggestions. I finally got a chance to get back up to the range yesterday and have settled in on using Varget. I have had good results with loading 37.5 gr for my 123gr HPBT and 37.0 for my 140 gr HBPT. Got a match coming up next weekend and will try ...
