Cancelation of NC Smallbore Silhouette State Championship

All, I hate to announce this, but it is time: the Championship Tournament, previously scheduled for the 1st weekend in June, is now CANCELLED! Asheville Rifle & Pistol Club will not reschedule for this year, but will plan for it next year instead. I light of Covid-19 case(s) in our local area, plus ...

Re: Who has state matches?

ATTENTION - I posted earlier this year about the North Carolina Smallbore Silhouette Championship Tournament. . . Well - I've just CANCELLED those matches (in June)! I light of the Covid-19 increasing cases in my local area and across the Southeast, I, in discussions with my Club's leadership, belie...

Re: Raising comb, hunter class question

DavidABQ, Specific answer to your question about the changeable length of pull adapter - NO, not an attachment Back in the "good ol days" - when Greg Conner was "in charge". . . I asked a bunch of questions relative to this topic "what is or is not an attachment" Without rehashing them all here, the...

Re: new springer.....

On/Off,
Hey I just read the 7-part review of the Pro Sport on PyramydAir. It sounds pretty slick!
Here's the link to Part 7, but it has links to parts 1-6.

Re: Who has state matches?

North Carolina holds a State Match in Smallbore Silhouette Rifle & Smallbore Silhouette Hunting Rifle on the 1st weekend of June each year. 2, 40-shot matches each day - Smallbore Silhouette on Saturday and Hunting Rifle on Sunday. That way if you can only shoot one day, you still have a chance of w...

Re: new springer.....

OnagainOffagain, I'm new to Air Rifles myself, but have been trying to learn about them (all). I would think a FWB 300S or S/U would be quite similar. Even of the same era. Saw a YouTube vid where "Cyclops" did a comparison between the 2 rifles - they both did great. I've heard repair parts are avai...

Re: Looking for an Anschutz doctor

mshelton, Sorry about your problems and that I can offer no suggestions for improvement. I can however recommend an excellent Anschutz (and other brands) Gunsmith - Evelio McDonald. He is on this board as that name. He put my 1712 into a Pharr/Robertson stock and did a GREAT job. When and if you are...

Re: (Sold): Tasco 6-24 Silhouette Scope

WIN52SHOOTER, Received the scope yesterday - it was exactly as you advertised! The packing was great and there was no damage to the package or product! I would recommend him as a seller for anything he puts up for sale!!! Looking forward to using this "classic" scope to knock down some steel!!! Shoo...

Hugh McCombs has Left the Range

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Hugh McCombs passed away at 3:20 on 1/1/2020 - due to Pancreatic Cancer. He was a good Christian, a good Man, a good Friend, a good Husband and Father, a good shooter and a strong supporter of our Silhouette sports. Hugh and his wife Lynette would want everyon...

Great News Adam! :ymapplause: I know Luke will do a great job for you and the Customers! It's only about 8 hour drive for me, so maybe I'll get a chance to go sometime soon! It sure would be nice knowing the correct cartridge/lot for best accuracy. . . If only I could hold the rifle steady enough to...

Re: Best Group: CZ 457 American .22 LR

DavidABQ » Sat Dec 14, 2019 5:40 pm Wow! That is a very nice group! My Anschutz 1712 at 100 meters prints a group that would make a shotgun proud. You need to do some ammo testing. A 1712 should be capable of sub minute groups. Check different ammo and ano different torque settings on your action. ...

All, Where are the websites a person can go, to look at Silhouette-worthy Air Rifles for sale? I need to pass this info along to my match attendees - as well as potential attendees. Thanks in advance, ShootingStar we'll get this Air Rifle Silhouette stuff really going as time passes. We've had a hig...

Silhouette Tee Shirt Sources

Hey Everyone, Give me some sources for good quality, lower cost, custom "silk screened" Tee Shirts. I had a local source that met all these criteria AND I was getting the "Friends and Family" discount, but they became unreliable from a timing standpoint! So I'm in the hunt again - so to speak! I'm s...

Re: 2020 Coop Shoot

Would it be difficult to get a Competitor Equipment Report by Rifle Type (Target, Sporter & Open)? I'm getting more interest in Air Rifle Silhouette, but I'm still a "low information" Air Rifle Shooter! lol I'm guessing it might help some other folks as well! I'd love to go, but will have to see wha...
