Re: Looking for Matches "near" Boise, ID

Depending on what a few hours drive means, Missoula MT and Cranbrook BC both have great silhouette clubs. RickF, Thanks! I remember these and had mentioned Missoula to her when she lived in MT herself! As far as "a few hours drive" goes, that's my term, not hers. I don't know her travel limits. Als...

Looking for Matches "near" Boise, ID

Hey everyone, Just had some friends move to Boise, ID. Anyone know where there might be some silhouettes - of any kind - shot within a few hours drive? I've talked to them about all the exciting different types of Silhouettes there are and they might try and see/shoot at a "nearby" match. Idaho is W...

Re: 2019 Revised SB Nationals Dates

44 mag, Yeah, I noticed that on the NRA website today, but you beat me to the posting! I've got a couple questions: 1) Will there be the "warm-up" match on Saturday, August 3? 2) Will there be the Smallbore "Seminar" between the Smallbore and High Power - like there has in the past? Thanks, Shooting...

Re: Rules 1.6(e) 1.7(d) 2.12 No State Membership Required

Hey everybody, I have run the NC State Championship matches for several years now, so I'll cover what my State Association requires and does for the State Championship Matches (Smallbore Silhouette Rifle & Smallbore Silhouette Hunting Rifle). The North Carolina Rifle & Pistol Association does not re...

Re: Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x

Washita, You've asked about this scope for use on 1/2 scale animals. . . those are usually shot with open sights. I'm guessing you meant the 1/5 scale, Smallbore Silhouette animals. But back to your fundamental question: How's the performance of the Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x? That's what I installed...

Re: What power scope are you using?

I use a 18-40 Premier boosted Leupold (originally 6.5-20, EFR Air Rifle Scope) set around 32 - 40. Depending on the day's wobble, not depending on the animal.

. . . . I would think with a gun club named after him, Mark Pharr would support his club a little better with some real knock-down targets. :)) ShootingStar here - aka Greg Chandler I'll be glad to supply him or the range all the knock-down targets they want! I won't say anymore, or this might be n...

I love it!
Nothing wrong with "old school"!
In so many endevaors, "modern" man is realizing those "old wive's tales" really knew what they were talking about!

2018 NC State Championship Results

Sorry folks - I thought I had already posted the results here. I did post them on NC Silhouette (dot com) already. The 2018 North Carolina Smallbore Silhouette Championship Tournament was on June 2 & 3. We had 2 solid weeks of record-setting rain before the tournament and half of our Turkey line was...

Re: Want to buy Henry 24" Octagon Barrel .22lr

snaketail2,
Why are you looking to get rid of the 39A?
I've heard great things about the Henry's, but I thought the 39A was THE gun for Smallbore Cowboy!?!

Re: Which youth starter rifle?

I wonder about the Ruger American Rimfire.
Is it any good? It has some adjustment, but will it be short enough and have good enough trigger?

Just throwing one more idea out for someone with experience to chime in on!
