Re: Classification Changes

I kinda like the books. At the end of the year you can frame them and hang them on the wall.

Jason, It is trying to find out what year a rule change was made. Has nothing to do with any complaining about the way they run things. I even gave them a close guess on my part as to what year it was made.

It is my understanding that the competitions division intends to move silhouette to electronic reporting in the future. Not sure when, or how, it will happen, but my guess is sooner rather than later.

Re: Classification Changes

Do you think we can get it put back on the table and have the NRA make the name change?

Re: What power scope are you using?

I am using a ordinary Leupold FX 3 in a straight 25 power. I would love to get another. I only have 2 of them and I would love to have a third scope.

I believe all of that went away when Dennis Willing left as the head of competitive shooting.

Dustin
I had not thought of that. Maybe it is dead.

Re: Classification Changes

I seem to remember Jerry complaining about the idea of name changes to the classifications. I suspect the NRA is going to do make the name change and tell silhouette shooters to love it or leave the sport. They forced silhouette shooters into conformance regarding scoring. They got rid of the third ...

Re: What is now the preferred Leupold scope

My friend was curious as to what scope he should buy as he is hooked on silhouette after going to the SB Silhouette Nationals this summer. I already have 2 of the FX3 in 25x with the promise from Pete here on the board that if he has another .run made through the custom shop he will put my name on o...

Re: Will the new T/C R22.......

Thank you everyone for the replies. I will pass on the information to my friend. Fortunately he decided to pursue a good rifle scope and then search for a suitable rifle if he decides the Marlin he is using now is what he wants to keep using it.

If you are on a tight budget you may want to look at one of these scopes. Athlon Optics, Argos BTR, Riflescope, 6-24x50
Not on a tight budget so much as wanting a Leupold rifle scope for sllhouette competition.

What is now the preferred Leupold scope

Now that the FX3 25x40 has been discontinued what is the preferred Leupold rifle scope to be used for silhouette?

Re: Will the new T/C R22.......

I have a friend who's application to SC has not been approved is considering one of these rifles. He is a lefty and semi-autos tend to be lefty friendly. I suspect it will make weight but the traditional looking stock is a concern. Our local match director won't give it a second look but with the Wh...

Will the new T/C R22.......

Will the new Thompson Center R22 stock meet the hunting rifle rules? It doesn't really look like a traditional hunting rifle stock.

What say the collective?
