Re: New NRA Competitions Portal

Does anyone have a good e-mail address for someone in the Silhouette/ competition department? I am trying to get my NRA Number corrected and my Classification corrected. The email address they give under the "Contact Us" tab gets kicked back as undeliverable. Sometimes I don't know why I even bother.

Re: New NRA Competitions Portal

Jerry, compared to not letting me creating an account to kicking me back to the sign in page constantly this is an improvement. Besides the software séems to be working, the classification thing is a human being at NRA Competitive Divison getting it wrong. I suppose I could stay an "A" and move up d...

Re: New NRA Competitions Portal

It is working correctly for me now. The only problem left is they got my an hunting rifle classification wrong. I will send them an e-mail with another photo of my book and hope it is corrected. I also hope to receive classification cards at some point prior to next year's Nationals. I am glad I did...

Re: New NRA Competitions Portal

I tried nothing but numbers and it wouldn't accept that. I did a name and numbers format and that worked I think. Every tab or button I clicked on opened up a new webpage taking me back to the sign in. I guess the NRA wants me to just look and not go anywhere on their website, except where you give ...

Re: New NRA Competitions Portal

I tried signing up last night with no luck. It did not matter what I put in for a password. It didn't accept anything. I am going to give it a week or so before I try again.

Has anyone else have any luck in registering?

Re: Anschutz Options

Jerry, you are correct but I must admit I like the idea of a custom 40X pattern action with a custom barrel and all of the other goodies to make a custom hunter rifle. I even entertain the idea of a Wooster/Pharr/Merrier stock then I look at me walnut stock and say screw the synthetic stock. Humidit...

Re: When working up a load....

I shot my test loads using Nosler RDF bullets and Varget powder in 0.5 grain increments from 40.0 up to 43.0 and I was not impressed. I shot 5 of my previous reload of Nosler BT with Varget at 44,0 grains and it shot a 1.1 inch group. BTW: to take wind out of the equation I shot all of the groups in...

Re: cards

I still have not seen mine yet. I guess it is safe to say that they forgot about me. Send me a copy of your book, front page and all pages within it with scores. I'll send it in again and make sure you get your cards. jeanne@mbo.net Thanks Lijeboy, but I sent a second e-mail today with my photos on...

Re: When working up a load....

David. Keep a log book of everything you load. They make preprinted record sheets. Midway sells them. Its a good way to keep records of what works and what doesn't. I do have a notebook and so far I have kept notes and procedural steps listed in it. I will also use it to record load information. Th...

Re: Are Remington products as crappy as I have read?

I hope this 700 of mine shoots well once I do some load testing. Right now it's groups would make a shotgun proud. To be honest I have not tried good factory ammo in it, just the cheap stuff. I hope with some good bullets and Varget powder I can find an acceptable load. I guess bashing Remington pro...

Are Remington products as crappy as I have read?

I keep reading about how poor the QC is on Remington products built after 1972 and I wonder if it is even worth my time to put a new trigger on mine. I thought a model 700 would make a decent silhouette/plinking rifle to bang away at steel. Fortunately I don’t need to shoot that far; our gun club on...

When working up a load....

If I am trying to find and accurate load I started with official reloading date from a reputable maufactuer. I start at the low end and work my way up, but in what increments? I just several loading for my .308 using 175 grain RDF bullets from Nosler. I used 0.5 grain increments. Is that too great o...

Re: Another reloading question.

""I tried a compressed load with my Varget and after the first round the bolt got very hard to open. I don’t think I will shoot the rest. I got the bolt open, a little persuasion with a hammer and a block of wood was required."" Why would you even try a compressed load? :-\ It is a joke. That is wh...
