Re: Georgia Smallbore Silhouette State Championship Tournament

TBD, you don't state how many shooters did pre register. I can tell you from myself as someone who habitually is a late register canceling a match due to low numbers this soon may be premature. JMO.

Re: New Silhouette Scope

As a lark I tried the Precision Rifle game. There were about 30 shooters all of them sniper wanna be's. The time between shooting was almost an hour. I did ok with my HP Hunter's Rifle but waiting an hour to shoot my second relay was to long. Saw more tactical rifles than a SWAT team has. No thanks.

New Silhouette Scope

Now that Weaver is no more.
Leupold doesn't have anything usable for us anymore.
Bushnell 4200's are gone.
Burris has nothing.
Nikon has nothing.
What's out there thats new that will work for either a SB or HP silhouette scope? :-??

Would light loads in a .35 Rem behave similarly?

The .35 Rem is a good round but brass is hard to find. I've seen guys use brass that is past its prime because of scarce brass.

The 38-55 is probably the most ideal round. But finding one under $1500 is impossible.

When I go, I won't pretend to be in the running for a top spot. I simply love lever action silhouette.

Post a pic. Some of the old Swedes were made into target rifles.

Re: A non- silhouette reloading question.

I was loading Speer 160gr. RN with Reloader 19 powder. I think I used Speer load data or Sierras.

Re: A non- silhouette reloading question.

David I loaded ammo for a 6.5x55 a friend had and it would shoot better with flat base Spitzer type bullets better. No idea why.

Re: How many years worth of .22 ammo........

Remington .22 ammo is crap. So is most for the Winchester .22 ammo. I have more miss fires with both those brands. I've used Federal for two decades without more than a few miss fires. Eley and SK are out of my price range at my current skill level.

Re: .22LR Standard or Highspeed?

Had to do some digging but I found a box of the Lapua .22 ammo. It was 48gr not 45gr. The two lower rounds are 40gr. Center-X for reference. They would ring a PC ram now and again but they were super accurate in every gun I shot them through. Last time I saw them for sale was 2005 or so. I finally g...

Re: .22LR Standard or Highspeed?

Lapua use to make a 45gr. standard velocity .22RF round. I used them for a long time on PC rams. Haven't seen them for a very long time but I do still have a few boxes left. Came in a brown box.
