Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The comment about Indy and The Kentucky Derby are not a good analogy because the winner of Indy or the Derby only wins that event not the Championship. It is more like winning a regional event. You also have to qualify to be able to run either events. In an ideal world the nationals would be held de...

Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS

I've only shot the lever gun nationals once in 2004. It's not an easy drive to NM from the NE. Ridgway is still a full days ride but not impossible. Flying to Raton is out as most airlines only allow two guns and limited amouts of ammo. I fully support rotating it every year. As far as the Indy comm...

Re: Bergara B-14R 22LR

I think it has to do with easy and hard. Silhouette is hard. We shoot the one position no one likes to shoot. Standing. All the other competitions shoot multiple positions and it will usually come down to who shot the best standing score. I shot XTC for a few years and they had a axiom. Won at prone...

Re: Article on the NRA

The insurance may be a state thing. My state has ridiculous rules about insurance that no other states do. I agree with Randy Ent. (If I understand his post correctly) We may need to look into taking more responsibly about our sport. After all this is our sport not any group or organization's. Its o...

Re: Bergara B-14R 22LR

To me its like fantacy football. Its trendy and everyone's doing it. I've noticed IDPA has fewer people at its events than it use to. Are they peeling off to other things? Or just dropping out altogether?

"If we do not hang together we will surely hang separately."
Ben Franklin

Also since every club is insured by the NRA who will insure them if the NRA fails. Bloomberg, Soros?

Re: Henry Rifles, 24" 357....

My regular gunsmith here in the NE retired and I wouldn't trust anyone up here to do a competent trigger job on lever rifles these days without knowing they've done many before. Its all ARs and shotguns around here. Hell I can do those myself.

Re: Bergara B-14R 22LR

I should have looked at the actual results bulletin myself before I made my remarks. I was going by my faulty memory which gets worse with age. My apologies if I offended anyone.

Dustin. I believe you're correct. Matt won master class but not the match. The awards ceremony was an event in itself.

Re: Henry Rifles, 24" 357....

The trigger seems to be the one thing I've heard people complain about the most. Same for the Browning 52s.

Emmett I like the Uberti's but don't see a lot of them on the line. I'm guessing they have heavy triggers?!?

Re: Henry Rifles, 24" 357....

I'm throwing a wrench into this convo by saying a .38 special chamber would be better than a .357 mag. or .357 max. We all(.357 mag reloaders) try like hell to work up a light load to .38 special velocity. Why not make one chambered in it?
