Re: Bench Rest Rifle Club of St Louis 2019 matches

Lever gun Nats. in Raton are in early July, 4th through 8th. Several PA guys shoot that one and HP. Add in the travel time home and needed down time for them, the Aug. 4th through 10th dates for rifle Nats. in PA is reasonable. Talking with the Champ yesterday about the possibility of shooting both ...

Re: Bench Rest Rifle Club of St Louis 2019 matches

Snake, with only a week between your HP Regional and HP Nationals, I have some thinking to do. I really want to shoot PA again, but you are 750 miles closer. Can not do both. Will Lisa make another batch of her green beans? :ympray:

New HP shooters

Just when I was crying the blues about getting no new shooters, we got TWO yesterday. At our Oct. match a club member came out to help set targets for his annual club work bond requirement. He was a former IHMSA handgun shooter from another state. Well he shows up yesterday to shoot our match. I pai...

Re: Sierra .284 diameter 197 grain bullet

Your welcome. Sorry for the late reply, did not see it. Shoot those 180's at about 2450 fps on the rams if your gun likes them. I got to live test those 175 Sierras today on rams. We had lousy wind conditions all day long. Pushing you around from the S-SW, all scores suffered. I managed to smack 10 ...

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

I can appreciate ranges built and maintained on a budget. We first started building the CRC range in late 1997 on raw prairie land. It took a tremendous amount of our money at the time just to move dirt around. We got lucky and were offered used target stands for next to nothing from NRA Whittington...

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

Snake, I can tell you that both AZ Ben Avery and NM Whittington ranges both use stops on the ram rails. I have helped set animals during practice at both places many times. I can't say what PA Ridgway does. At our club we have standard 100 pound rail which is about 5.25 - 5.5 inches wide. We try to ...

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

I get the same questions asked of me by curious new club members who have not heard of the various silhouette games we shoot at CRC. Usually by phone call or emails. I prefer the calls over emails. More often than not the word offhand ends the conversation. But for those with interest I tend to go o...

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

It is my opinion and probably others, too, that all shots fired for score or records must be fired on as uniform as possible regulation size targets set per current rules. The ram examples you cite are extreme for weight. They should be scrapped out for swinger practice targets. New regulation replac...

Re: Sierra .284 diameter 197 grain bullet

Ken, this is your lucky day. Somewhere this past year, AZ and NM I think, I won a box each of Lapua 150gr. and 180gr. 7mm bullets as door prizes. I will gladly let you have them for testing for the price of shipping. Another late thank you to Lapua for donated goods! PM me with your mailing info.......

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

This thread is magnetic. Hey...are you calling my bullets fat? There are a dedicated few that still rely on the good 'ol 7BR for good reason...it works well on rams and light recoil on the close targets with fat lighter bullets. We have a AAA shooter that uses one and can shoot his class mos...
