Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The comment about Indy and The Kentucky Derby are not a good analogy because the winner of Indy or the Derby only wins that event not the Championship. It is more like winning a regional event. You also have to qualify to be able to run either events. In an ideal world the nationals would be held d...

Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Just going to point out the obvious.... First, this is a thread hijack. It's considered rude but this is SC.... Second, MOST sports I have been involved in have a finals and they are held at a specific place at or on a specific date every year, it's called tradition. Third, we are mostly an older cr...

Re: What rear sight for silhouette? Winchester Legacy 94

Great info thanks! I'll watch that receiver only brace when testing this one. We shoot F-TR, PRS, SB & HP Silhouette, & service rifle so its ingrained to get as close to a sub MOA group as possible. Not likely with a 30-30 but the scope makes a difference for load dev. especially given my eyesight ...

Re: What rear sight for silhouette? Winchester Legacy 94

FWIW I use the iron sights for load development.... Trick is to use a target large enough that you can get a repeatable sight picture on it... I strive for 2MOA out of everything which I give up 1MOA with the iron sights so... Don't forget to support the rifle THE SAME WAY you shoot it. My off hand ...

Did they ever come up with a reason why the Smallbore is after the Highpower?

Thanks, Dennis
If I had to guess it'd be shootoffs are easier with SB as opposed to HP....

Lever gun is the same way...

Re: Spotting

Update on Canon IS II 10X30 Binoculars.... We've been using them for over a year. I used them scoring a shootoff at the Nationals (CLA) and called a hit for the shooter that their spotter called a miss... was a edge hit and the splash was a good 5' away from the animal, he saw the splash but not the...

WTB 1712 stock

Something that is drop in ready, Pharr, Wooster or the like. If it doesn’t utilize the factory bottom metal, needs to already have bottom metal with it. Would prefer 13.75 to 14 inch LOP.

Figure out check before I had one made. :-)

Re: Article on the NRA

That was cut and paste from the comment section, it like all the other comments are from anonymous posters. So you should take them with a grain of salt… But a lot of the comments have lots of names, and dates, and events that are noted that make you believe the validity If not at least except that ...

Re: costs on approved matches

Still not understanding... are you "registering" one match date/event (One off match, regional, state) or are you trying to register a reoccurring monthly match? I "registered" my match 9 months or so ago as a registered 4 day match, starting on the 19th of Sept and ending on the 22nd of Sept. It i...

Re: costs on approved matches

What are you talking about? Are you trying to register a match or report a match? I think I found the answer in the definitions of tournaments in the NRA Silhoutte rulebook. It says, (a) Match - A complete event as indicated in the program for the awarding of certain specific prizes, A match may co...

Re: costs on approved matches

Why would anyone want to report their scores? Keep it the same, shoot above your classification all year and then go to nationals and win a boat load of trophies, just like always. Whether the NRA doesn't record the match scores of the shooter or the shooter doesn't write down their match scores on...

I too still vote for using books...

Those pesky pieces of paper sure made a lot of things simple...

Sigh....
