Re: NRA End of Year Accounting

All, Just offering an opposing view: I have not had an issue this year or any other with scorebook accounting. One year, I had a missing stub, but put in an additional slip of paper with statement along the lines of "lost #xyz, but money is included." I'm guessing the $ helped smooth things out, bu...

Re: RCBS power trimmer

I have the rcbs case prep station next to it on the bench and go with a routine of trim, outside chamfer, inside chamfer, neck brush, primer pocket brush, retrim and measure. I found that doing the outside then inside chamfer grows the brass a couple thousands and I try to hold +/- .0005. The 3 way ...

I have the same one except I bought the universal spring loaded shell holder and a new carbide bit. Works fantastic. GLWS.

Call me crazy but if you are wanting a new scope that is going to be a custom order then why not just call Leupold?

Re: 25-20 load for 50gr lead...

These are actually 55gr not 50. My mistake.

It's an experiment, I have 500+ Hornady 60gr bullets ready to go but want these to work...

I have a couple weeks coming up I should be able to get some good load development time in. I'm going to experiment.

Re: 25-20 load for 50gr lead...

No it's a 20" barrel 1894CB. It's an experiment. She likes light guns with no recoil. I could load full bore on 60gr hornady but if I can get lead to work with just a bit more energy then 22mag it'll be the ticket. She wants PC ram percentage to go up from 80ish to 95+%.

25-20 load for 50gr lead...

Not trying to reinvent the wheel but looking for some other powder options then Trailboss. Short story, wife has a rifle that appears to love a 50gr hollow point hard lead bullet. The ogive is long on it and I think it works good with the chamber leade. Haven't chronied but it has responded with tig...

Re: Early Christmas present

Cedestech: Remove the lever trigger lock for trigger weight and hassle . Could you please be a little more specific on this. Please make it a little clearer to understand or a link to a video so I can watch it being done. Pull it apart and it should be obvious. It's the little chinga that the lever...

Re: Early Christmas present

The front is the lowest or next to lowest 17a, the rear is what ever you want. The reciever has the same mount as a Marlin 39A. Don't think you are going to find a "recoil" pad that will fit a cressent butt. If you do let me know, I have a Remington #4 clone that needs the LOP lengthened by an inch...

Re: Early Christmas present

If you noticed that is what a lot of people shoot for CLA. First you'll probably want to find a straight cut (shotgun) butt stock. The weight of the rifle takes a bit of the snap out of 30-30 but a proper recoil pad helps a lot too.I had a gunsmith cut my cressent off and install a nice grind to fit...

Re: Winchester 73 vs Henry Big Boy maintenance

You are way to hot on your load. I have a Henry Big Boy Steel and use 125 berry with 5.0 titegroup for around 1150 fps. That load takes down all pc targets and chicken and pigs on cla. I use 158 berry with 6 grs titegroup for cpt on cla and 180 Serria jsp with 14 grs h110 for rams. Depending on you...

Re: Winchester 73 vs Henry Big Boy maintenance

"hot" is a relative term... What shoots best out of your rifle is what you should shoot. If that load shoots 2MOA then I'd say it's good to go. I shoot a powder puff load out of mine but that is also the most accurate and it has a funky twist rate (rossi).
