Re: 32-20 help needed.

Have you given the barrel a "good scrub" with a bronze-bristle brush and cleaner? Sometimes the crud in an ugly bore gets loose and fills the grooves unequally which tears up the bullet. A good scrub to get everything loose out will often help.

Re: Thanks Aaron Farmer

Yes. Congrats on your accomplishment.
And, thanks to Aaron Farmer for doing his best in a position where the folks at the top of the NRA only care about the folks at the top of the NRA and spend our money living the high-life.

Re: 2020 Nationals Dates

Like Raton, we often use any day off to explore (Taos or Mt. Capulin, for instance). Three of other places to visit, while further away, are Niagara Falls (2.5hr), Corning Museum of Glass (2.5hr) and the Gettysburg battlefield (which is very well done with an excellent visitors center - 3.5hr). But,...

2020 Levergun Nationals

The 2020 Levergun Nationals are at the Ridgway Rifle Club, along with BPCR, SB & HP. Having Levergun & BPCR at Ridgway is new this year. Unlike SB & HP, which rotate every-other-year between Raton & Ridgway, Levergun & BPCR have traditionally been held at Raton. The Ridgway website is: http://ridgwa...

Redfield Olympic & Lyman 63?

Bought a Win Model 92 pistol cartridge rifle and thought I needed sights. Well.......... doh. Rooting through my old smallbore drawer(s) I find I have too many, so thought I would see if anyone needs a smallbore or levergun sight. The upper sight in each picture is the Olympic with the larger 7/8" O...

Re: Lost 2020 NRA Classification Fee

It must be expensive for the NRA to be under investigation by the State of New York. They need to raise money somehow. Move silhouette Nationals to a club that hosts them for free and have people double and triple pay to see their classifications. Every little bit helps. :ymdevil: Thought you were ...

Re: 1923 Model 92 converted to a model 53...

Arrived in great condition and gunsmith was able to fix the hammer with a small amount of effort so cycles properly. Also, has a great trigger. Now I just need to re-stamp that barrel so its legal and I'm good to go. Seriously, while I'll compete with it, my abilities are such that no one will...

Marlin 1897

Have a nice Marlin 1897 that I plan to shoot in lever action silhouette and am wondering what sight to mount on it? Have a Win 1892 for pistol caliber that am using a Redfield 75 on and am thinking of just mounting the rail and moving it over. But, would be interested in any suggestions for a better...

Re: Bad News

My understanding is that Ridgway required a contract with the NRA for silhouettes thru 2026 so they have a basis for planning. In other words, it was a LIE when we were told that BPCR and Lever Gun (at least) would alternate annually with the Whit. Not that I believed you then, but let's own up to ...

Re: Bad News

While some of the above may be true for high-power, I can assure it is not true for BPCR silhouette and most likely not true for any of the levergun classes, especially smallbore & pistol cartridge. Plus, who cares? That is why we have classes and rules about how well you can shoot within a class at...

Re: Opinions please .22 bpcr sights and scopes and bases

What did the OP go with? If stilling 'thinking' then I'll put in another vote for the MVA B5 for a scope. At 5X has plenty of power for rams and large enough field of view that a wobbly shooter (like me) doesn't lose the chickens as they run thru your sight picture as happens for me with an 8X or 10...

Re: Bad News

My understanding is that Ridgway required a contract with the NRA for silhouettes thru 2026 so they have a basis for planning. With the NRA, hopefully it is worth more than the paper it is written on. While I know none of the details of the contract, it does not cover BPCR after this year and BPCR r...

OK, I'll take it. I need a pistol caliber rifle for levergun silhouette.
