Speer 165gr Grand Slam bullet

I saw these on the Graf & Sons web site - they "look" like the correct bullet profile for us - but I'd like to know for sure...are they considered "flat nose" of Spitzer? - Speer 165gr Grand Slam .308 bullet -

is .356 legal for CLA?

A neighbor has a .356 he wants to sell me - being "semi-rimmed" I think it might not be legal. So, I'm asking, is the .356 legal for CLA matches? (won't hurt my feelings if you say no - I have a fine running 30-30, but its always nice to have an extra hog gun. And we seem to have a overly-large popu...

Re: Application for 2019 Nats in pdf form

I have to agree with Allen. Would be nice to use "modern technology" to register...we're paying "modern prices!"

I think I'll pass on the Nationals this year.

Winchester 350 Legend

At first glance this looked like "The" lever gun cartridge of the future. At 2nd glance I discovered: It is a .223 case with a straight wall - not a rimmed case. Its more like a 9mm Long Rifle. I kinda suspect this one will not be legal for Lever Action matches. https://www.shootingillustrated.com/a...

Something new on the market: A news straight wall .35 cartridge from Winchester - I assume it will be available in a lever gun. https://www.outdoorhub.com/news/2019/01/21/shot-2019-winchester-new-350-legend/ https://woodburyoutfitters.com/the-trailblazer/breaking-news-winchester-introduces-worlds-f...

Re: Sight Adjustments At Matches

All good suggestions, may I add a bit more? Think of the Williams sight adjustment in terms of full revolutions up or down. For example: Pigs at the Zero Mark Turkeys at 2 revolution up Rams at 2.5 more revolutions up (total of 4.5) Chickens at 1/2 revolution down from Zero (depending on you ammo) I...

Re: Postal Silhouette Matches?

Come out Sunday to Bayou Rifles Addicks Range (west side of Houston). cedestec runs a 40 shot sbla and a 22 cheater gun match (open sights) or if you have a 22mag, you can shoot it. OK, the idea is that I don't have to leave home at 4:30 am to make it to a match! I like the Houston range - From dri...

Postal Silhouette Matches?

Does anyone hold a postal match?
I live 3 hours from Austin/San Antonio/Houston. I can make the afternoon matches, but 6 hours of driving to shoot a 40 or 60 round match seems excessive. I like the fellowship, but not the drive-time.
Any ideas?
