Re: How consistent are Speer 2007 130-grain .308 bullets?

I usually use the Sierra Pro Hunter bullets, but these Hot Core Speers are a bit cheaper. I may give them a try.

Re: CCI Sub-Sonic HP vs CCI Standard Vel

I tested these two yesterday - not much difference. Almost the same point of impact and group sizes similar. Also retested SK Flatnose. The light must have been different last time - the Flatnose shot a nice tiny groups at 50, 75 & 100 yards this time. Will use more when available. M SK Flatnose ba...

Re: Henry's 20" vs 24"

I didn't switch from the 20", but my 24" was shockingly accurate. I couldn't be more pleased.

Re: SK Flatnose ammo

I shot most of a box of Flat Nose at the range today. The only surprise was the minor elevation adjustment needed at 75 yards and again at 100 yards. Lever action Henry rifle with Williams receiver sight. 1/2 turn up from "zero" @ 75 yards and 1 revolution more @ 100 yards. I'm used to more elevati...

Re: SK Flatnose ammo

Well yesterday Goodshooting had 56 boxes... less than 24 hours later they're out of stock... I got a UPS tracking number in a matter of minutes after my order was placed. I'm guessing I got one of the last bricks. I'm curious to see how it performs compared to the Eley EPS bullet. My Stiller shoots...

That's priced better than I would have expected. I put in an order for a brick. We'll see how it does.

Re: Which Henry .22

The short mag tube holds 10. And we only load 5 at a time. So, the short tube would work fine for me. Oh functionally for sure. I just get bothered about the aesthetics of a tube that doesn't extend the full length of the barrel. My Henry is the only one of the three that doesn't. It's dumb, I know...

Re: Which Henry .22

I bought a 24" Henry from Cabelas, but on the day it was suppose to be in the store they told me it was no longer available. So, I'm hunting for one again. There are two models of the 24" rifle, one with suppressor threads, the other without threads. The suppressor model has a shorter magazine tube...

I just put all my rifles in the dish washer about once a month. High heat, air dry - works great. Gets the scopes clean too.

Do you like the pods or the powder? I find the powder is a bit more aggressive if I have a truly dirty bore.

Re: Barrel cleaning

I was always told cleaning .22 is not needed as it removes the wax that is beneficial to accuracy. Depending on the quality of the chamber and barrel they may never need to be cleaned to cleaned after every session.... Most 3P/benchrest shooters clean after or during a event.... Most will preform b...

Re: Henry 24" & Lyman Front sight

I use the Williams FP-GR-TK and the 17AUG. I have had no complaints with the pairing. Each rifle is slightly different... although I was able to use the 17AUG on all the 20” Frontiers I’ve setup, some I have heard from stated they had to use a 17AML even on their 20” version. Whereas, 17AUG on our ...

Marlin 336A 24" 30-30

Putting my 1949 Marlin 336A 30-30 with 24" barrel and waffle top up for sale. Rifle shoots outstanding with a great trigger (about 2.25lbs). Never once had an issue with it. There is a bit of wood damage around the tang. I tried to make sure that was shown in the pictures. The Lyman globe sight is i...
