Re: Classification Changes

I love devil's advocate. Be as argumentative as you want! Thanks for recognizing it... Much to my wife's chagrin I do it as a mater of course rather than on purpose or maliciously. If you have an opinion that is fine. If it is just because that is fine. If it drastically effects a bunch of people (...

Re: Classification Changes

It's just a minimal effort from match directors paired with a little effort from the NRA and we could really step up Silhouette's appeal. Not to be accused of being argumentative again but who's definition is "minimal effort"? It's minimul effort for me to jot down some numbers in peoples books whi...

Re: Classification Changes

I'm not saying the books don't serve their purpose. They do. I'm just saying even systems that work can be improved. And by improved I mean brought out of the dark ages. Let's look at the benchrest world. https://www.americanrimfire.com/index.php/rankings Select Unlimited Outdoor Aggregate and click...

Re: Classification Changes

Why? The younger generation depends on how they were trained and they were trained in the gadget punching digital world. That is fine in a climate controlled environment but not at a range far away from the grid. When in a rainy, humid, extreme hot or extreme cold environment, electricity and batter...

Re: Opinion of Value

That's not far off from what my original thoughts were. I was considering $1400, with scope and accessories that I have for it. I also have a fair amount of premium .22 ammo that I would like to unload. RWS, Aquila, Ely, Lapua and some others. Any value there? Sure there's value. In my experience, ...

Re: Opinion of Value

The bolt is easily removable without removing the stock. I have a chamber guide that I use when cleaning with a one piece Tipton rod and clean patches. I have never used a bore brush of any kind, although I do have some that are made of fiber. I can't quite tell if that barrel tapers or not. Knowin...

Should I go and participate in the Colorado State Small Bore match or should I take that money and buy a case of ammo to practice more?

I'm not sure anyone but you can answer that. It's whichever has more value to you: participating in the match or practicing for a different match.

Re: Opinion of Value

Steve, On this particular 541T, does the barreled action have to be removed from the stock in order to remove the bolt from the rifle for cleaning? Many of those Remington silhouette rifles were built like that depending on which stock they were in. Have not seen a Remington on the firing lines in ...
