.38-55 loads and Lyman 250 gr FN

I'm looking for a load - maybe a magical load (ie, one that will shoot in the sub 2 MOA region reliably), for my .93 Marlin in .38-55. I'm using the Lyman flatnosed bullet that is nominally 249grs, and I think I will test Unique in the range of 10-15 grs. Does that sound reasonable? I tried some old...

Re: Update on Nationals Numbers

Peeps (tang sights) were totally original. Where did you get the idea they were not?

Frankly, I think they should make a separate scope class for lever.

Re: Do I have to......

Yes they will. If you wear a really big hat and miss alot, they laugh at you.... :)

Actually, it's all good fun with good people and they dress up like folks everywhere. t-shirts, ball caps, leather vests and cowboy hats, flip flops to cowboy boots. Take your pick, it's all good.

All good things come to those who wait. But yes, it does take awhile.
Approximately an eternity, right? ;)

I can agree with ALL of that.

Shoot while you can. There will come a time when you can't, but until then...

Re: No more BPCR at Bench Rest

I posted this on the blackpowder reloading facebook page, but I'll add it here too. Bob and Pat hosted one more (perhaps the last?) BPCR regional last weekend. It was a great match with a 60-shot Saturday and a 40-shot Sunday. Those us that made it all had a great time. But sadly, there were fewer p...

Re: 44 40 wind drift

i just tried it with 22 cal 40 gr. bc .15. i got 20.8 drop with 18.1 inch wind drift at 1250 fps. at subsonic 1050 i got 26.7 drop and 14.2 wind drift. according to the calculator the drop increases but the wind drift decreases. thats 10 mph crosswind I was reading the wrong column. My mistake. The...

i checked that site it gives me better drop numbers but about 30 percent more wind drift with the faster load. 1350 vs 1050 i mean for speed
That is surprising. I just ran through it with numbers for .22 LR, and it was always less winddrift for faster bullets.

Re: Bench Rest Rifle Club of St. Louis BPCR

I can't make it this weekend. I've been traveling too much, too far of late, but I will be there for the Regional for sure. I sent my registration in and I have my room reserved. I wouldn't miss it.
