Re: Bench Rest Rifle Club of St. Louis BPCR

I have a feel of the range - or maybe I should say it is the other way around. It is a fun range where the winds are not simple. Because it is a 60 shot match, I'm definitely interested. I don't do highpower - All I have for a highpower rifle is a Krag 98. But I would be interested in Cowboy - which...

Re: Bench Rest Rifle Club of St. Louis BPCR

Bob,
Thanks, I have both matches on my calendar. I am nearly 100% certain to make the regional. The 60-shot monthly is on my calendar too. I just might make that one too.

Re: Rule change on front sights

Thanks for posting that. That's not bad for the first year. Maybe this year, I'll switch too, but that would take work... I'm lazy when it comes to lever guns.

Re: Rule change on front sights

I wonder how many people shot with an aperture at nationals last year? Anyone know?

Most of my rifles have the old nickle silver Rocky Mountain front sight and I didn't bother to change them. The aperture would definitely be better though.

Brent,
The round aperture is legal. Shoot with one last year at nationals.
Dick
Yup, that's what I said.

Can't tell ya. I haven't downloaded an NRA rulebook in a while, but they are quite slow to update them on line.

Re: 60 shot smallbore CLA record

Amazing shooting! Not a 60 round match, but Larry Weir shot two perfect 40 round matches in a row at Haltom City a few months ago. Mind blowing. If those 2 matches were part of an aggregate, then I would argue that he has a record for an 80 shot match. And a perfect score in an 80 shot match would,...

Re: 2018 National dates

We never had any trouble finding lodging for the Nationals at Raton. We have stayed both in town and on Whittington. For the size of Raton there are plenty of different options for housing. That is the good thing about Raton. The trouble we have at Raton is the lack of plentiful food options and lo...

Re: Support Your Sport

Snake, are you talking about your monthly matches or does this apply to the regional as well? Monthly matches have to really work at advertising and promotion to draw at all from beyond the local population. That's a very hard sell to commit to. I drive 7 hrs to get to SL for the regional, and I hav...

Re: 2018 National dates

The NRA published their dates in their Shooting Sports e-magazine. It arrived in my email inbox this morning

You can see the dates here

Re: Unertl Scope mounts

Well I won't try to dissuade you any further, but it's like calling 4.682" on a yard stick zero and then -- well I don't know exactly. Unertl mounts do have a staring point. 0.00" should be very clear and every distance is measured from that. If you zero at 0.63", I don't even know what you would ca...

Which nationals? There are about a dozen of them, you know.
