I would use the Locktite, but you can always drill and tap it for set screw.

The longer barrel balances and holds much better for me.

Re: cards

I seriously doubt I will ever need or use my cards. I've had my NRA BPTR card for years and never once needed it or been asked to produce it.

Re: Squib

ppkny -
It is not the rifle. My rifle has the same problem with his ammo. His rifle shoots my ammo (7 grs of Unique, 180 gr RCBS cast) just fine.

Re: Squib

Davidmagnum, Thanks for the note. I think it was 17 grs of 4227 - nearly a full case in the 38-40 according to the owner. It was a friend's rifle and his loads. I tried them in my rifle with the same result, however. They were definitely NOT magnum loads, but I would not think that is a light load e...

Re: Squib

I would not shoot any of that ammo any more, and I would take the remaining stuff and run it across a scale to see how consistent the cartridges are. This is slightly reminiscent of what happened yesterday with a friend. We were shooting .38-40s. His was loaded with a fairly full case of 4227 and a ...

This should be discussed in Raton. At the competators meeting.
That'll kill it for sure! Nothing modern allowed!
You mean like jacketed bullets and fiber optic front sights? Still wondering why all the angst.

Re: Scoped Lever action silhouette

As an aside, those of you than think bpcr will become a some sort of cake walk with a scope should take a close look at BPCR irons and scopes so you know what you are talking about. AT MOST people who shoot both scopes and irons might average a point higher with scopes over irons. Of course, there a...

Re: Scoped Lever action silhouette

Amazing to see this thread topic here. Good deal and about time. I think there are lots of ways a scope class could be regulated, but one of the easiest ways would be to simply borrow what is known to work from the BPCR rules. Make the scope tubes 3/4" and oculars of not more than 1" and you will so...
