Re: 2019 Louisiana Indoor Air Rifle Silhouette Regional Match

Woo hoo!

Been looking forward to this match since last year's match ended. If you're an air rifle shooter you should be at this match!

Garin, expect to see my registration and payment in the next day or two.

Re: 2019 CBC Championships

Have you ever seen Pe Ell? Nope, never been. Missed out on Nationals this year (drivable from Houston) and next year's is in PA (nope on driving) so I'm psyching myself up for learning how to fly to shoot in these big matches. To that end, I managed to get the super-duper flight case from Pelican (...

Re: 2019 CBC Championships

I'm making a bigger effort to try to go to the biggest and best matches this next year, and this one is on my list. Any words of wisdom about travel arrangements for someone that would be flying in? Things such as... Fly in to Portland or Seattle? Is rental car the only option to get from Portland/S...

Re: Scope Height

Look at the Morr Accuracy "the edge" standard height rings. They should be shorter than the BKL riser/ring combination but slightly higher than a BKL 257H high ring. Bad thing is they are a much higher price than the BKL rings. The Edge rings are listed at 1.45" from receiver to centerline of the s...

Re: Scope Height

The BKL high rings are 1" above the receiver (0.975"), the risers with the medium rings puts it at 1.45" above the receiver. No middle ground there from BKL's offerings. You'll have to look at a different solution if you want to get to 1.25". You could look at a DIP dovetail-to-Weaver rail and then ...

Re: SCATT users?

No personal use but there are a quite a few users and several threads about it over on the Target Talk forum. This thread is long, covers several years and a lot of back-and-forth about SCATT vs. Trace, but there's some good info in there... http://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=52879 A litt...

Re: Red Dot Reflex Sights

I don't know the specifics of many red-dots but I do know they are notorious for having serious parallax issues. The higher end red-dots that may have 1/4 MOA adjustments and good repeatability will be in the upper hundreds of dollars, easily the price of a good scope. Lastly, red-dots are not very ...

Re: Considering a new gun case

Bumping this older thread to mention that Costco (at least here in Houston) has the Pelican 1750 cases for sale for $190 each. I looked around the web and saw they normally sell for about $275 or so. I haven't flown to a match yet but I expect to next year, so I bought one while the opportunity pres...

I double-checked the rulebook and didn't see anything about overall length. Perhaps your acquaintance is mistaken.

Re: match director in training

Kudos for stepping up and putting your self out there. I, too, ran our club's smallbore match for the first time last month. I've been helping out both the smallbore and air rifle match directors a bit lately so I knew what needed to be done, but it gets a little more "real" when it's your turn at b...
