Re: 44 Magnum Pistol Caliber Loads

Check out the Henry Big Boy Steel. It has a 20 inch barrel but is very accurate. My wife and I shoot this for pc and cla. Prices are about 725 to 750 for a new rifle. A lot of marlin and Winchester owners will go with their brand if you can find one in good shape. Parts could be a problem for older ...

Re: 7-30 Waters, anyone using this anymore, bullets?

In the spirit of the rules I would say no. It should be a flat or round nose bullit as made by a manufacturer. Cutting the tip could result in bad performance of the bullit.

Re: Henry 24" & Lyman Front sight

I have a Frontier in 24 inch. Your choice of rear sight depends on shooting stance. Williams makes a low and a high profile sight. Depending on what you buy determines the height of your front sight. Williams are not as good as they use to be. It would be ideal if your chicken setting is within 10 c...

Re: 2018 NRA Silhouette Nationals Programs

I remember a lot of comments about moving the Nationals east on a rotating bases and that it needs to stay in Raton. Well it's in Raton and now the price goes up and service goes down. Beware of what you ask for. The question of who sets the price for this match should be answered. As to comparing m...

Re: Cowboy in North Ga.

First one is in the books. Had 22 people show up which was great. Got a couple of easy fix problems to work out but a great time was had by all. Thanks Joan for putting on a great match.

Re: Award Certifictaes

Back when I was involved in running matches I used PowerPoint to create awards. I printed the awards on photo paper. The paper comes in different sizes. For monthly print with black ink. For state matches I got fancy using images from the internet for different classes and special awards like high a...

Re: Need your input reworking a SB range

If you need benches build wood moveable benches. That way you can pull them out of the way for prone shooting then move them for silhouette. If I was you baffles are a must. A round going off range could be a problem. Need help with design I have pictures of our range that could help.

Re: Cowboy in North Ga.

Well it's only two weeks until the start of lever action in North Ga. Frank and I drove over this weekend for work day and help Joan get ready. Several changes this season. No longer will there be a left or right side. The animals will be a different color. If you can't see them you have eye problem...

Re: NRA In-a-Row Pins Are Back

The only difference between the two pins is the letters NRA on their pins and directions they face. Roy's are cheaper.

Re: Got paint?

Check out the ace hardware brand of paint if you have one in your area. It goes on sale for about 1.79 in my area and is good paint that dries fast. If no ace go to the source. Rusto sent our group 3 boxes several years ago for our state match. Tell them who you are and what you want it for. All the...

Re: CPT Loads for 308 Marlin Express

Just looked up 2017 survey and did not see 308mx listed. The reason it is not legal is it is not a flat point nor is it a round point. The 308mx has a plastic pointed tip that is not part of the original casting or swaging .The tip is a removeable plastic insert . I thing it is time to stop reinvent...

Re: Herny vs Marlin 39

I would have to agree it's the shooter not the shooting iron. My wife and I have 4 henrys, 2 in 22 and 2 in 357. She shoots a h001 carbine with a youth stock which she has named baby henry. It is so short we have to use a wood dowel rod to put it in a rack. With this rifle she won aa class at the gr...
