Re: Ammo questions

....The same 125 grain load in .357 magnum will take down the full size chickens and turkeys, but it is not 100% on the pigs. A 158 grain or 180 grain will work for the pigs. Ken, Where are these bad @ss pigs? My diminutive 25-20 takes full size pigs at 100m using 75g every time I’ve tried it. That...

Re: Ammo questions

Ppkny: I just picked up a Winchester model 94 (Centennial 66) 26" octagon barrel in 30-30. I found it in the gun library at Cabela's in Gonzales, La. It is unfired NIB with the cardboard sleeve that goes over the box. I still have to get the front and rear sights.

Re: Ammo questions

I don't think the 22mag round will work. It is designed to break up. It will not transfer enough energy to the ram target to be effective. I my 357 Henry, I am using 5.5 grains of Power Pistol with a 125 grain Hornady XTP. I also have some 125 grain lead Magnus bullets with the same powder charge th...

Re: Silhouette Cookie Cutters

This would also be a way to get a conversation started about silhouette shooting. A set of the 4 silhouette cookies could be given as a small gift. I am looking forward to trying my set out.

Re: louisiana lever gun match

Kimbal: your welcome. Charlie's does have good steaks. You should see the pile of onion rings on a plate. Maybe next year we can go there on either Friday night or Saturday night. They were closed for a long while due to a fire. I think they just reopened. I live about 6 miles from there.

Re: Early Christmas present

xpilot: I looked at them. I am mainly looking for a leather cheek piece. I just posted a wtb ad for a Winchester butt stock. I will cut the crescent off and install a good rubber recoil pad. Thanks for posting the information. You never know when it might help someone else. Ken

Winchester butt stock

Does anybody have an extra Butt Stock for a Winchester Centennial 66 lying around collecting dust? I plan on cutting the crescent off and having a recoil pad installed. I am not worried how bad it looks or how scratched up it is. I can always refinish it or paint it. I don't want one that is cracked...
