Re: Would anyone else like to see the weight limit change?

A couple of comments were made at Nationals. Mostly in regards to Standard rifles. I looked up the IMSSU page for their rifle weight limits, and the NRA rules are the same. A few guys who have shot in Mexico said that they can shoot heavier (12ish pounds maybe??) rifles since they only have 1 class....

Re: Texas State Match

I'm going to try to get a write up to the TSRA Sportsman magazine about the match. if you've got a few words, post here or send a PM.

Charlie has also sent me a 21 gig flash drive with photos. If anyone has a web suggestion for posting, I'm happy to do so.

Got mine today. They look really nice. I'll give them a try this weekend at the TX match.

Re: Marlin 39A

Point of reference. There's a 39A from 1946 in the classifieds right now for $575. It has upgraded sights. You might also check rimfirecentral.

Re: Leupold 6.5-20 EFR questions

6.5-20 reticle change is about $200 from Leupold. They were pretty quick, like 2 week turnaround when I sent mine in. I sent a Sightron SII 6-24 to Target shooter optics to get a reticle change a few weeks ago, still waiting. They are $130 which includes return shipping/insurance. It's been several ...

Re: Best Group: CZ 457 American .22 LR

This is in the lever action forum?

Try some RWS branded ammo. The 2 CZ 455s that I have shoot RWS the best for some reason.

Rifle match or R50 if you want premium.

Re: Another reloading question.

I'm pretty new to reloading as well. Most powder companies, as Al said, have data posted.

Nosler and Sierra have some manual pages posted online.

I used sierra's manual/pages and hogdon data since I was using H4350 and Varget.

Re: What do you typically do, when

Find a bullet of a similar style and weight and start there with your powder? I used the sierra data for the lapua bullets I was using. There was a 1gr difference in bullet weight 107 vs 108 and 140 vs 139. I started at the minimum charge and never got to max when I was shooting a ladder type test.

Re: 2019 Texas Smallbore State Championship - June 1-2, 2019

We need to get this on the TSRA calendar. I'll email a couple of folks to see what I can do. Dave Phillips is the contact, but I don't know if he 'does' email or not.

Re: 6.5mm Bullet for the Close Animals

With the bullet seated to 2.790" as recommended by Sierra the cylinder of the bullet is about .100" into the neck. At this seating depth it is .09" off the lands. Neck tension is .002". I ran five 5 shot test loads staring a 35.8 gn up to 37 gn of Varget in .3 gn increments. The higher the charge t...

Re: 6.5mm Bullet for the Close Animals

I started reloading late in the summer. I shoot a 6.5 creedmoor. Using 1-2x fired factory Hornady brass and 108 Lapua scenars, I've had really good accuracy. Based on the book, it's not a hot load, but based on conversations with a few other shooters it's hotter than they use. I have 40.5 grains var...

HP Stock (not mine)

Here's a highpower stock posted on the longrange hunting site. Looks like it'd work for a standard rifle. ~$600.

It's not mine.
