A win!

Well, I won five dollars in a AAA shoot-off and my class in one of the silhouette matches at Macias today in Washington State …. it was a thrill packed, man-o-man-o finale! Out of five turkeys, my opponent (who is a better shooter than me any day of the week) knocked over one and I knocked over two!...

Thanks to Loren Peter, Gary Malmberg, Larry Cole, and "Leroy From Wenatchee" for driving long distances to support Central Silhouette's first Eastern Washington match at the Sun Targets range, Moxee, Wa.... Getting richer.....

I have a 1710 Anchutz Silhouette rifle that I bought 15 years ago (?) for $900, and they are sold now used for $1000 to $1500 -- if you can find one. I won a 1712 Anchutz Silhouette Rifle as a door prize at a Conard Bernhardt Match three or four years ago, and they now sell new for $2095. Tell me th...

The March Toward Improvement.....

My Conard score went up from last year's! By two points! Which means that I should move from AAA to a Master's Classification in about 30-40 years! See what "hanging in there" will do for you!

Re: The Perfect Silhouette Scope- what would you have

As an old guy with a jerky hold, my Leupold 6X18X40 with a 3/8 dot seems perfect.... I dial it in at 12X most of the time.

Shooting friends.....

Sometimes a good friend is priceless..... Yesterday, at the Conard Bernhardt Rifle Championships, one of the biggest, most important silhouette rifle matches in the country, I began the morning match with an excellent start: I had shot 9/10 chickens, and 9/10 pigs.... a better beginning than I have ...

The addiction.....

Rifle silhouette is one of the most frustrating, most fulfilling of all shooting sports.... has something to do with the pseudo-science of psychology's well-documented phenomenon of intermittent reinforcement..... The more you see them fly off the rail, the more you want to see them fly off the rail...

Re: Public Appeciation for Steve Wooster and the CBC

Was watching the video on FB. Who was shooting iron sights? LOVE IT! I had dinner with that kid, and to my shame I've forgotten his name.... The first day, he scored a 26! Nice guy, too. 26, not shabby at all! The second day he had a little more trouble .... said he couldn't see the white targets i...

Public Appeciation for Steve Wooster and the CBC

Once again, I experienced a quality weekend at the Conard Bernhardt Championships at Pe Ell, Washington. The opportunity to shoot side by side and associate with Champions like Cathy Winstead-Severin, Dennis Martinen, David Bonner, Dustin Flint, Eric Boos, Erich Mietenkorte, and the Marsh wrecking c...
