Re: 3031 or Varget

I’ve yet to see 31-33gr of Varget behind any 125-170gr jacket not shoot 1 to 2 MOA in any decent 30/30 Lever Action. Although I’ve seen it shoot good, I’ve never seen 3031 or 4064 shoot quite that well in a such a large variety of rifles and projectiles. I’ve only tried LeveRevolution in a couple Ma...

Re: Do I have to......

I shoot in flip flops and band T shirts. I gained 8 animals solely from switching to that outfit. Its the footwear - t-shirts don't help much. M You're probably right, but I do feel very in tune with myself wearing the combo. Every one else seems to wish I would add pants or something to the mix, b...

Re: Henry's 20" vs 24"

Accuracy of the 24” Frontier I’ve tested (using AutoMatch and MiniMags) is definitely on par with the 3 Marlin 39A Rifles I have (when using the same, or similar, ammo). I do have one 39A that will do only slightly better (less than 1/2 MOA better), but only when using high end standard velocity amm...

Re: 25-35 - anyone using?

Phenomenal round. I spotted a well known character at high power nationals 6 years ago (snip.....) Gee... I wonder who THAT could be? :-\ =)) :ymcowboy: - Tim PS- for the record, 25-35 is one of the most accurate (and fastest/flattest shooting) rounds to come out in a Lever Action platform!

Re: Want to buy Henry 24" Octagon Barrel .22lr

Looking for a specific Henry rifle isn't very hard. Just call the Henry factory and talk with the owner. If he can't locate one for you he will ship one to your dealer. I have read of him doing this many times and I even had him ship me a 22 mag rifle to my dealer. Yep, this worked for me... did it...

Re: Henry 24" & Lyman Front sight

I use the Williams FP-GR-TK and the 17AUG. I have had no complaints with the pairing. Each rifle is slightly different... although I was able to use the 17AUG on all the 20” Frontiers I’ve setup, some I have heard from stated they had to use a 17AML even on their 20” version. Whereas, 17AUG on our ...

Re: Henry 24" & Lyman Front sight

I just ordered 24" Henry .22, octagon barrel. What is the correct sight height - for Lyman 17 series - for this rifle? I'll be using a Williams rear sight. Michael What I'm really asking is - can I take the sights off my Marlin 39A and use them on the new Henry? M MB- Rear site is different... Prop...

Playing with the idea. 1 or 2, 20-Shot matches. 10-Pigs at 40 5 Turkeys at 50 5 rams at 75 Loading (minus caps) before ready, capping during 30-second ready, five shots in two minutes. Round ball only. Post/notch sights, no Olympic style sights =)) heavy targets with target damage rules (can't imag...

Re: 2018 TSRA Texas State Lever Action Rifle Silhouette Championships - April 14th/15th

Thanks for attending, wish you could’ve hung around and accepted your “young whipper snapper” award, but I understand delinquent kids like you have a curfew you have to make. Also, Judy says you left your shooting cart behind (I still owe you for it). My parole officer only gave me a pass until 5pm...

Re: 30-30 load

31gr Varget works well with all bullet weights but is optimal for the 150. I found 32gr tightens up the 130 Group just a bit. Agreed... although accuracy is VERY acceptable at the 31gr level, this is exactly the same thing I found with the Varget loads, and even more so with the 110gr chicken/varmi...

Thanks Tim, Judy, Wayne, Dave and everyone else associated with the the match. Having it ALL on one site is much better. Things went smoothly and the target setters were great. The give away Henry Rifle brings back memories of Winnsboro. Next time kill the wind and turn the heat up a bit, please! C...
