Re: FIRST smallbore Oklahoma Regional

Stan, Will, their families and club members put on a great match at a super facility.
There was a lot of thought and pre-planning that went into the way they ran the match.
Thanks,
Bobby H.

Real marksmen cannot stay away from standing silhouette.

Re: Classification Changes

My United States Tennis Association comparison lacked one important factor and that was cost. Back in the 1990's the fee for a 9 year old and under to play a local tournament was $35 or more. This only guaranteed that the child would play a minimum of two matches. That meant one match in the main br...

Re: Classification Changes

Besides silhouette and other match shooting our son started playing competitive tennis at around age 6. That means he had a USTA travelling card at that age. We could not sign him up to play tournaments unless we had the internet and a credit card. That was many years ago. Tournament results were in...

Re: Classification Changes

Why? The younger generation depends on how they were trained and they were trained in the gadget punching digital world. That is fine in a climate controlled environment but not at a range far away from the grid. When in a rainy, humid, extreme hot or extreme cold environment, electricity and battery...

Re: Classification Changes

Never had any problems with the present book system of recording scores. The reporting system will in the long run cost a lot more money than the book system. There will have to be at least one administrative person to manage that influx of weekly record keeping. While with the present system the sc...

Re: SK Specification Match

To be more specific when using the term junk ammo I meant that those 5 brands of ammo all have at least one or more types in their product line that have proven to be minute of barn door if the bullet actually makes it out of the barrel.

Re: SK Specification Match

I started the original post. I meant it to be a serious idea. It was not trolling. All of our rifles were built by Mark Pharr. They are quality and are maintained correctly. If I ever decide to sell one of our smallbore rifles, know that it has never had a single round of junk ammo down it. Only Sk-...

Re: Leather vests in Lever Action

There is an equipment race in lever action. No kind of vest should have ever been allowed. Only true factory sights should have been allowed. No Williams. No peeps. No globes. No inserts. No Lyman. No sights that can be adjusted on the fly between animals. I never saw any of that stuff on a Henry, W...

Re: What is now the preferred Leupold scope

That is a good question. Maybe Leupold will have another 25X production run in the future.
A readily available supply of such equipment would make it easier for new shooters to enter the sport.

Re: RIFLES TAKEN

We stopped leaving anything of value in the truck overnight. We even take the ammo bag out now because it contains ammo and prescription glasses which are expensive. Also the classification books are in there with quite a bit of personal information. Even if the truck is a few feet away from where w...

Re: SK Specification Match

The bucket idea is even better. Let's do it.
Just specify none of the thick rimmed stuff. Many bolts will not close on the thicker rimmed ammo.

Re: SK Specification Match

This thread had over 2000 views. The number of views shows that there is quite a bit of interest in a ammo specification match where every competitor shoots exactly the same type and same lot number ammo.

Give Steve Wooster or Wayne Merrier a call. Both sell excellent stocks.
