Re: SCATT users?

Would using a scope that focuses to 10 meters or much closer not be the first step to using SCATT for silhouette practice? None of my smallbore scopes focus down to that distance. If you used SCATT inside a typical house, the distance would probably be much less than 10 meters. Then, can SCATT softw...

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

Here is an article about 6mmBR barrel life. The article does not take into account the increase in the number of useful shots of barrel life by shooting the 95 grain VLD's at lower velocity for 3/4 of the "on the clock" shots. I wonder how that increases barrel life for the silhouette competitor. ht...

Re: Technical gqestion about barrel length.

The 7 inch rule was the problem for most of the rifles that would not fit the NRA jig. I think the silhouette committee dropped that rule in 2017. Tall people who needed long stocks would violate the old 7 inch rule if the toe of their recoil pad continued the lower line of the stock. If memory serv...

Re: match director in training

The terms for the targets do not matter. Call them anything you want. The most common term in our area is "animals" not "targets". The main thing besides safety if you are calling the match is to never forget to say the "Fire" command at the correct time. We have attended state level matches where t...

Re: Turned steel chicken

Resettables are necessary for air rifle and air pistol silhouette because the small size of the targets make finding them and resetting them difficult. Resettables are good for monthly approved matches because the necessity of making more direct hits offsets the higher scores resulting from familiar...

Re: Turned steel chicken

This discussion reinforces that what sets Silhouette apart from the paper punching, electronic screen and dinging the hanging plate competitions is the fact that the targets must be knocked down. No sport out there like it. We should avoid the conversion of Silhouette competition to paper targets or...

Re: Turned steel chicken

I waited for the second page to tell my story that is more bizarre than any of these. Shooting a monthly smallbore(scoped) rifle match in Gonzales, LA. at the famous East Ascension Parish training facility in the Summer of around 2002. Match director was Jerry Tureau. I was using a CZ452 American wi...

The Richard Graham Interview

I normally would put this in "Behind the Berm" but many new members do not have access there.
There is so much to be learned from this interview that applies to life and silhouette.

Re: Gun club match

If you let folks know your general location, there might be a seasoned competitor close enough to give you on site advice.
Having someone there in person is better than phone conversations and internet communications.
There is nothing like being on the ground.

In the past Daniel sent the match results to the competitors by e-mail but it takes longer than a few days.
I would give him some more time. He is a busy guy.

It appears that multiple people could be using the "wizone" handle on this forum. This post is out of character for the original user of that handle. It is a good policy not to give your password out because it might be passed around.

Re: Anyone Familiar With Tasco Custom Shop Scopes?

Cons: 1. The owner of the only company that could repair these died last year. The name of the company was ABOUSA. 2. The scope has 1/8 MOA clicks. 3. The scope has a very, very small range of adjustment on both windage and elevation. 4. Because of #3 above most of these scopes have been destroyed b...

Re: Rules 1.6(e) 1.7(d) 2.12 No State Membership Required

Correct me if I am wrong. I think the Georgia Rifle Association also donated funds to buy awards for their 2018 Smallbore State Championship held in Dawsonville. The State associations that donate funds to promote and assist Silhouette should be commended.
