Re: 2019 SB/HP Nationals

So I clicked on the excellent Ridgway Rifle Club website and there was Harold's correct e-mail address.
It is harjf75("at")gmail.com
One digit off. Problem solved.

"Old" running bore rifles make excellent smallbore heavy rifles.

Re: Silhouette in Alabama?

Frank, Is the Brock' s Gap range in Hoover that you referred to the one that has the narrow but nice asphalt driveway built on the civil war era railroad cut through the mountains? I made the statement to Glenn one time that it must have cost a fortune for the club to make those cuts through solid r...

Re: Silhouette in Alabama?

It is 3 hours and 10 minutes to Vance for us if we do not stop for anything. That area is a dead zone for any kind of silhouette. The people there will shoot USPSA, steel challenge and maybe a little F class. The CMP range at Talledega will be receptive to you trying to start Silhouette there but th...

Re: Silhouette in Alabama?

Emmett, Where in Alabama are you potentially moving to?
There are areas in that state where you can own enough property to form your own club and host matches. Dirt, concrete and firing line cover can be done at a reasonable cost on a small scale.

Re: Silhouette in Alabama?

Glenn and Patsy Hughes were the driving force behind scoped smallbore silhouette in the Central Alabama area. They put on great matches and were super people. They got to the age where they could not hold matches any longer. When Julie retires, we plan on moving to North Walton or North Holmes count...

Re: Briley 10/22 Pharr stocked

Emmett,
Are you sure that is a Lilja barrel?
If so that must have been a custom order for Lilja to made a 8 groove rimfire barrel.
No 8 grooves are listed as an option on the current Lilja website.
Did they routinely produce 8 grooves in the past?
If I were you I would keep that rifle.

Re: Briley 10/22 Pharr stocked

Emmett, potential buyers will want to know if the barrel has a visible taper making it legal for Hunter division. Difficult to see that in the photos.

There are high quality photos of the scoreboard on the
"Louisiana rifle silhouette facebook" page along with a nice match report.
Super match but super hot and humid.

Yep, Snake hit the nail on the head with that post. When the wall went down factories were forced to hire people they knew were not qualified.

Doodaddy, You have good vision. I think you would also be happy with a 25X with a 3/8 MOA Dot. It is not that much different.

Re: bolt failure

At no time did I say that the Anschutz action is "WEAK". Stop putting words in my mouth that I did not say. Read all of this thread to find that out. Bolt Housing is another term for bolt body. Let's make this simple: Know the difference in the terms "action" and "receiver". The Anschutz Receiver is...

Re: bolt failure

Every American Rimfire custom action manufacturer is now price competitive with the price of new Anschutz rimfire actions.
The prices of some models of new Anschutz rimfire rifles exceed the price of an American custom built rifle.
No reason not to go custom American action now.
