Re: Back at it....

The 6.5 X 47 is an excellent caliber choice. Yes, the brass is expensive, but it will last you twice or 3 times as long as other brands, especially if you anneal the case necks after every 4 or 5 firings. The 6.5 was developed specifically for precision shooting with long barrel life and has a prove...

Re: Cleaning Rifles at the Nationals

I found my rifles will fire up to 200+ rounds before cleaning is needed, so I arrive to any big 2 or 3 day match with a clean rifle and don't worry about cleaning the barrel. I do make sure the bolt and action are clean, then properly lubed after every 40 round match.

Re: What is the best action for Silhouette?

Save yourself some bucks and buy a Remington short action (You can buy a new .243 Rem 700 at Walmart for under $400). Then have a competent gunsmith "blueprint" it and pin the recoil lug in place (~$150). Add a Jewell trigger ($220) and you now have an action that will be just as good or better than...

Re: Neck sizing, full length....what?

Better yet, using a Lee collet neck sizer die will minimize work hardening of the sized case necks. I found that by using this die for neck-sizing .260 Remington brass, the cases will go up to 5 reloads before annealing is required. Once annealing is done, a full-length resizing removes any distorti...

Re: Finished Finnish Finnfire... hahaha

Nice job on the rifle and trigger conversion!!! I installed a CG Universal 2-stage trigger on my Finnfire and with the judicious use of 2 tiny drops of super glue in a couple of screw threads to keep sear engagement and over-travel screws set, the rifle shoots better than most standard weight rifles...

Tucson Milt Hood Memorial Match

Match was shot in 15-30 mile per hour winds.

No problem for Joy Cox. Shot a 25 to take the match. Closest score was a 14.

Freakin' amazing.
