Re: Anschutz 1761, has that replace the 1712?

Has the Anschutz 1712 been replaced by the Anschutz 1762? Should I sell off my 1712s to buy the new 1761 So I can stay competitive in AA? :-o If you use R50 ammo, have a premium after market barrel installed with a Pharr or Wooster stock and a well adjusted trigger I would think the 1712 should be ...

Tikka T1X rifle

Who has some experience with the new Tikka .22 rifle?
A good solid rifle with exceptional performance or a dog of a rifle?

I really like my Leupold FX 25x40 with the 1/2 minute dot.

Re: Anschutz 1761, has that replace the 1712?

Ahh Dave, your trolling always amuses me. But seriously, you NEED that new rifle. My friend’s old Marlin model 25 shoots groups nearly as small as those my 1712 shoots. It makes me wonder why I don’t sell it and just shoot a Ruger 10/22? I guess I am too lazy to go through the process of selling it...

Re: What is considered and acceptable group?

1 Minute of Angle at 100 meters = 29.1 millimeters or 1.14566929 inches. 2 Minute of Angle at 100 meters = 58.2 millimeters or 2.29133858 inches. Why even discuss a 100 yard group or test at 100 yards when the litmus test for smallbore is 100 meters? For me the answer is easy why I use 100 yards, t...

Re: cards

Dave and crowd will welcome you Dave. Go east on I-70 and take the gunclub exit and take gunclub road south a couple miles. Thanks Jerry. One of these days if I ever get time off and have money I would like to head over to Phoenix for one of their matches, maybe someday. Jerry, I have actually shot...

Re: What is considered and acceptable group?

Hmmmm, one MOA? Thank you, that gives me some sort of benchmark/goal by which to judge ammo. I am not a 1/2 MOA shooter but I understand your point. Buy as much accuracy/ precision as you are able to exploit.

Thank you everyone.

Re: cards

I have not seen them yet but the cards are the least of my worries. With the NRA portal corrected I can always do a screenshot plus I still have my books. I should be set for attending Dave Bonner’s Colorado State match in the fall and any of his monthly matches if I can get up there this summer. Lo...

What is considered and acceptable group?

So if I was hypothetically testing .22 LR ammo at 100 yards inside a tunnel so wind is not a factor, what sort of group size would be considered satisfactory for silhouette competition?

Well damn, I was hoping to offset the cost of a new custom rifle by using Remington Golden bullets.

Oh well, it was a nice thought.

Don't sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess you don't think the new Anschutz model is as good as the 1712?

You are probably correct, I am more inclined to have a custom rifle built.
