Re: Weatherby CFP

Any of the 300 blackout or 223 family would easily work. 6 TCU, 6x47 (from 222 magnum brass), 6x45, 6.5 TCU, 7 TCU, 7x45, 7x47 (from 222 mag) are all viable candidates, as is the 30/223 already mentioned.Keep us informed if you rebarrel.

Re: When working up a load....

I often use .5 grain increments for load development. I also will load and shoot my most accurate (to date) reload when testing others, so I have a standard to compare to on any given day. Stay away from black powder in your 308. If manufacturers wanted you to shoot it, it would be in their reloadin...

Re: Champion's Choice has RWS Target Rifle on sale right now..

Thanks for the heads up. We have a startup collegiate rifle team. This ammo isn't 10x, but neither are they. At 50 foot targets, this will suffice. I ordered 6 cases.

541 buttplate

I've acquired a 541 and am learning how to shoot it. I don't yet have a vest. The buttplate is smooth & slick. Do I merely replace it with a thin rubber pad? Can I put skateboard tape on it? What have others done for a budget solution? It wants to slide on my shoulder. Thanks in advance.

541-T base & rings

I think I want to replace the one piece Leupold & turn in rings with a Weaver style setup. Any insight as to what base I need? I want a bit taller rings methinks.

Re: Big Changes

IHMSA cards contain all the same info as NRA except for the 2 highest scores notation. Name, address, year, membership #, classification for each category in each discipline that is updated by the MD. It's a simple format that allows the MD to put all your match scores for that day/event on a single...

Re: Big Changes

My NRA rifle experience started about 2 years ago, I've shot a few smallbore matches, and have a record book. I've been shooting IHMSA handgun silo since 1983. We have always used cards to record our scores. There are 24 categories in IHMSA compared to 16 for NRA rifle. IHMSA scorecards are a simple...

Looks like a phishing scam for selling Viagra. Maybe mods can lock or delete the thread.

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

I was the IHMSA small bore records keeper for several years. While giving credit to witnessed records, I endured the inevitable comments and concerns when IHMSA went to auto-reset targets. With auto-reset, a bullet to the foot area may not knock over a target that may have fallen with freestanding t...

Re: Which 7mm caliber?

I'm new to this discipline, although I've shot handgun silo for 30+ years. Interesting thread, since I shoot a lot of 7br from the xp100. Hope others chime in, I'm partial to the 7mm's but understand the potential of the 6mm's for their lack of recoil in fast twist barrels. I have a rifle in 7x47 He...

Re: HOLYCOW Dustin

Congrats to Dustin on some outstanding shooting!! I primarily shoot handgun silo. Not trying to hijack this thread, but since it was brought up......can someone tell me why nobody shoots the 7br? Is ram knockdown power the only reason? or refer me to the proper thread....Thanks.... Again, great shoo...
