Re: target repair

If they are cast, just throw them away. If you really want to try, use a high nickel rod and pre heat before you weld. If they are cut out of plate you need to grind off the old weld then weld them back with 60XX rod or equivalent wire in their old position. If you do TS weld like I do you need to g...

Re: new build - which 6mm for low recoil but effective

Reduced loads in a large cal rifle are a pain and light short bullets do not have a very good BC.

Re: NRA casification cards

DavidABQ » Mon Jul 01, 2019 5:30 pm Jerry, my original hunter rifle card was incorrect and it took a few emails to include one from Lijaboy to get it corrected. My question is, “did they reclassify you down on the NRA competition portal?” It use to take an act of congress to lower your classification.

NRA casification cards

WTF is going on with the NRA? I got my SB classifications a couple months ago and now I get a new one for my hunter rifle but they reclassified me down. Do they have clue what is going on?

Re: How many years worth of .22 ammo........

I think if you keep your 22 ammo out of the heat you can store it for a long time. Back when wolf was $100 a case at my door I had 5 cases in my basement for about 5 years.

Re: How many years worth of .22 ammo........

by topclass » Sat Jun 29, 2019 5:37 am DavidABQ: why are you being a judgemental elitist about another shooter's choice of ammo? Did he say that? Dave, it is cheaper to buy by the case and a couple cases on hand isn't too much. You are shooting over a case a year anyhow. When you go to Raton, severa...

Re: new build - which 6mm for low recoil but effective

Could it be you have became a better shot? Might be the comp you are having with Francisco? Na couldn't be it.

There is no recoil difference between a 115 from a 6mm and a 115 from a 6.5mm

Re: Anschutz style 10/22 stock

Both Bell and Carlson and Mc Millan do not offer left-handed Anschutz style stocks

I didn't even know they offered plywood stacks.

I miss-read and skipped over 'composite. Sorry.'

Re: Group Size?

You are lucky to have such a facility. I think anything under 3/4 minute would be just fine. Remember, the difference of 1/4 minute in group size makes your theoretical miss only 1/8 minute. That would be 0.7 inches at 500 M. If you can guess your outdoor shooting conditions that well you are a mast...

Re: new build - which 6mm for low recoil but effective

Why would you shoot a maxed out 6mm with a 115gr bullet when you could shoot a 6.5mm 115 gr bullet with the option of going with a heaver load?

Both of the 115s would take the same powder charge. What do you gain?

Re: NRA Financial Problems, last ever Silhouette Nationals?

Just how far can we trust the media when they all want the NRA done away with? Do we really know what is going on? I don't think so.
