Prize Money

The best attended matches in the last 10 years that I have been to all award prizes. They all have been well run by the local club. Anyone of us that has been shooting for a few years have enough plaques to last us a life-time. It is not cheep to travel around the country and shoot in the matches. I...

22 ammo

Only test at 100 meters. Lots of ammo holds up good at close range but seems to fall off real bad at turks and rams. If it groups at 100 it will group at the short ranges.

ehat to wear

It is always cold and it usualy rains on one of the days. Lots of people hang around the two wood stoves except Tresa. She always wears her shorts and laughs at the rest of us.

Go to the scrap yard and get some railroad rail even if you stack them. Angle iron will not withstand a CF hit and the vibrations won't knock any animals down if you use rail.

too quiet

You can change a single stage 1712 to a two stage for about $100. If you can find a good used 1712 there is no good reason to get in the back of the long line for a new one. Neil can fix you up with the Anchutz part to change the trigger and he will also install it in your trigger assembly.

ammo

I'm with Dr Dave on this one. If you want good ammo you have to pay for it. You need to decide how good you want. Just remember we spend many $ on plane tickets($200) and motels($150) why should we go real cheep on the ammo($2). It don't make good sense to me.

Why would you want to handicap yourself with US made ammo. I haven't found any that shoots well. Try the Mexican Eley in the yellow box. It is not expensive and shoots well.
