I think that 1 1/2 minute would be the upper limit. For club matches you might get by with 2 min stuff. Most of the moderate priced ammo will group under 2 min in a decent rifle. The real problem with the 22s is the ammo, not the rifle. With a lot of searching you can find ammo that will group under 1 min. I am using 4831 in a 142 gr load at 2650 fps. Every ram I have hit has gone down. Up 8 1/2 min from chicken zero for rams and up 29 min at 1,000 from my chicken zero.

Put a good after market barrel on a trued 700 action and you will have a good gun. And don't forget to teplace the fatory stock.
