GEORGIA State Silhouette Championship 2016

Post by jloehle »

I am putting this up pretty early so that people can get it on their calendars now. It has now been officially approved by the NRA.

April 16-17, 2016
Coastal Georgia Gun Club
Brunswick, GA

I will be putting up a program as we get closer. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at jloehle@mac.com

We have room for up to 60 shooters at our range. The range has metal backstops at every position which allow you to see misses easily (and painted between relays). Plenty of room between positions. It really is an ideal silhouette range designed from scratch by a 30+ year shooter.

We have an extension for the T-shirts so disregard the March 19th date. If you get registration in, I'll have 2 weeks or so to get the shirts ordered.

The 2016 Georgia State Match is in the books. Thanks for everyone who came out to participate. It was tough out there!

I have never shot in a wind like that before... unpredictable and gusty. Scores were 5-7 lower than normal for everyone.

Here is a link to the scores. I will get photos up soon.

Joe, Miranda and the rest of the Team,
The matches were GREAT! None of us can do anything about the weather except complain! And I've been doing my share.
Your match was well organized and very well run - congrats to all of you!
The pulled pork sandwich boxes were outstanding, but I think that tasty brownie gave me the shakes - or maybe it was that ocean breeze we had both days. . .

Chris Simmons put on a "shooting clinic" on how to shoot in the wind! Congrats to him winning both days!

A congrats goes to you too in your individual score turnaround from Saturday to Sunday. Even though the wind conditions were worse on Sunday (I didn't think that could happen by the way) you shot a very improved score!!! Good job getting 1st AAA.

I enjoyed it and look forward to the next time in Brunswick at the Coastal Georgia Gun Club!!!
Hope to see everyone again real soon.

Thanks Greg. I think I finally stopped worrying about the wind, the target setters (who ended up being awesome), lunch getting there on time, etc, to actually relax enough to shoot on Sunday.

Chris Simmons is a heck of a shooter with high scores in that wind... on a borrowed rifle!

Stephen Culpepper shot really well, too, as our Georgia State Champ.

I'm looking forward to NC Match in one of my favorite places, Asheville.
