Anschutz 64 MPR...

Post by Jetmugg »

A friend of mine just put one of these on Lay-A-Way at the local gun shop. I was trying to encourage him to buy a slightly used Anschutz 1416/scope combo that was for sale at the same shop, but he "fell in love" with the MPR.

Obviously, the MPR won't work in the hunter class. I told him that I didn't know if he'd even be able to make weight in the Standard class. Does anyone have firsthand experience with the 64 MPR model?

looks like it weight 9.04lbs naked so it may well have a challenge without some work. not so enamoured with the 64 action. good for starting out if you own one already but i wouldn't start there if i were going to purchase something for silhouette. i should rephrase that. i did start there... with the Model 64 silhouette rifle back in 1984. knowing what i know now i wouldn't start there again. just going to upgrade later.
