1712 ACTION SIZE

Post by JIM PENDLETON »

A couple of years ago I bought a used 1712FWT with a McMillan stock. I like wood stocks. This summer I bought a stock from a 2 year old 1712. When I put my action in it the fit was very loose. I am glass bedding it. I wonder if they changed the diameter of the action. My gun was made in 1998.

Seems you have ask a great question that is a big mystery. I would venture a guess and say no.

Jim,
I have been working on Anschutz rifles for over 20 years, specially 1712, and 54 actions. As far as I see it the actual dimensions on the actions have not changed. There have been changes in the bolt and trigger assemblies, but not the actual actions.
Evelio.
