Re: Sbould I spend money on.....
What scope do you have?
Unless the scope you have now is inadequate the Nats would be the call. You can always pick up the scope later.
Didn't you just buy a 24X BR?

I'll be there. With Jerry spotting for me. His best spotting advice ever was "So did you MEAN to hit that rock?" And "Aim harder!"
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.

LOL! "Aim Harder!"OldRanger wrote:I'll be there. With Jerry spotting for me. His best spotting advice ever was "So did you MEAN to hit that rock?" And "Aim harder!"
Steve,
I am using a lowly Leupold FX-3 12x40 instead of the vaunted World Renown Leupold FX-3 25x40. He sold the BR24 locally.
Pete, if I go to Nationals I will take you up on your offer afterwards.
If I cannot make it to Nationals for other personal reasons I will take you up on your offer before Nationals.

I hate to tell you this but I just sold a 24X - BR. I was going to offer it to you but my shooting buddy here had called dibs when I got it. Sorry.
I found an FX-3 and did an upgrade.
I had only ever used 24X BR's until last Sunday. My rifle is under construction and thauglor and Jerry G were kind enough to let me shoot their rifles for the first and second match respectively. I struggled a bit with Thauglor's scope as it was not as much magnification as I am used too. I asked the Match Director when he had changed to the smaller Chickens. LOL
You need to decide how much you would benefit from a 24 or 25X. Have you sighted with a rifle with the higher power?

Steve,
The only scope to have been mounted on my rifle has been this Leupold 12x40.
To be honest I just can't seem to get excited about going to Nationals this year.

Maybe it is because you have PE Exam to think about. You should have been excited due to the fact that you completed your Masters. That right there would be reason to celebrate going to Nationals up at beautiful Raton, NM.
Thank you for being there and hanging out with us.

Re: Should I spend money on.....
You are correct Mark. Sometimes I become my own worst enemy and the P.E. exam is weighing heavy on my mind right now.
Having the Master's completed is a relief.
I learned a great deal at the shooting clinic following Nationals this year. Hopefully I can put that into action and do better next time it comes to the Whittington Center.
I am glad to be able to help you out some.
