Thank you so much for the kind replies. I guess we just got unlucky with our timing. We had a nice drive anyway and, since we're coffee junkies, got a great cup down in Chattanooga.

I'll definitely plan to shoot with you folks on the 18th, but I'm happy to pay for entry. I always want to support the clubs putting on these events. I'll give you a shout, Gator, as the event draws nearer, to get more details. I have a rifle that I'll probably be shooting as I start out, but will certainly want to step up to something more suitable, if I take to the sport (although I'll never turn down an opportunity to try out gear). My rifle is a heavy barrel 10/22 with a Leupold 25x40, but I'll be doing it for the social aspect, rather than serious competition anyway. I just need to make sure my rifle makes weight.
