5018 trigger springs ?

Post by thauglor »

Have a question regarding the springs for the 5018 to increase weight. I ordered the spring kit through ANA, and after I installed both pull springs, I was getting 5 pound trigger pulls with the weight screws turned all the way up. I replaced the long one with the original skinny one and now I am at 2.0 lbs.

So I replaced only one spring to get to 2 lbs, is this normal?

I did not replace the catch spring as it resets fine.

Thanks :D

Is this the one you purchased?

5018 Trigger Spring Kit ( Heavy )

This kit is to increase the 5018's trigger pull weight to 2.2 lbs. You will need all three springs to achieve this weight. Gunsmith installation is strongly suggested.

Part Number: ANS.5018TRIGKIT

Fom the manual:

"1.2 Moving trigger cam No. 11:

•lowest position of trigger cam: lowest trigger weight
•highest position of trigger cam: highest trigger weight

If the trigger weight is to be more than 200 g, the trigger cam No. 11 must be adjusted to the highest position (turn by 180° and secure), using a 2 mm hex key and possibly tweezers:"

Do I move the cam up towards the receiver or do I flip it? I read that it can be flipped for higher weight. And is this best accomplished with the safetype on or the do I need to disassemble the trigger to do this?

Thanks

Just flip the cam over, you don't have to take the trigger apart, it is accessible thru the opening on the side of the trigger, just be careful when you re-tighten the screw, it is very small, and can be twisted off. You don't need the safety on.

Awesome, thanks Evelio!

Kd, the picture is too hard to take with any clarity of the cam itself.

No worries. I was thinking this was for the 64 actions, but it's for the 54 actions.
