2017 Georgia Smallbore Silhouette Championship
2017 GEORGIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SMALLBORE & HUNTER RIFLE SILHOUETTE
DATES: May 6 & 7. Saturday –Standard Rifle Match. Sunday - Hunting Rifle Match.
ENTRY FEES: $50 per day, $75 for both days. Junior entries: $40 per day, $65 for both days.
MEMBERSHIP: Georgia Sport Shooting Association membership is required for Georgia residents. Out-of-state shooters must be members of their state associations or can join GSSA at the match.
REGISTRATION: EARLY REGISTRATION IS ENCOURAGED TO GUARANTEE ENTRY AS RANGE CAPACITY IS LIMITED AND MAY BE REACHED BEFORE THE MATCH BEGINS.
As most silhouette competitors have numerous-shirts from matches through the years, the Georgia Championship will provide special alternative to a t-shirt in your registration bag this year!
PRACTICE: The range will be open for practice at 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Friday and from 8:00 to 8:45 AM on match days.
TIME: Mandatory Safety Briefing begins at 8:45 a.m. each day. Matches begin promptly with first shots at 9:00 a.m. each day.
COURSE OF FIRE: Each tournament will consist of two 40 shot matches each day.
FOOD AND ACTIVITIES: Lunch is provided to registered shooters, which is included. The history of Andersonville is incredible! If history is your passion, you are in the right place. Across the street from the town of Andersonville is the Civil War Prison Camp, called Camp Sumter and the National POW Museum and National Cemetery. All are a moving experience and should be toured if you have time. South and Southwest of Andersonville are Americus and Plains, both of which have much historic significance as well. North of the range is Montezuma and Oglethorpe which is home to a large population of Mennonites and their famous restaurant, Yoder’s Deitsch Haus.
