I am in for new stock.

What are the differences between Mike Pharr's RT/S stock and McMillan ANSCHUTZ® SILHOUETTE .

Thanks

W.

I'm not very knowledgable on the exact differences but I'll kick things off...

The McMillan stock is a version/copy of the Anschutz 54 MS wood stock with a vertical pistol grip, chunky fore-end, and designed for a heavier Standard rifle (10 lbs.).

The Mark Pharr stock has a curved/angled grip, less chunky fore-end, and designed to meet Hunter rifle specifications (8.5 lbs.).

If you want your rifle to meet both Standard and Hunter rifle spec's then go with the Pharr stock. Ivan Rubio is the guy making the Pharr stocks now.

The Wooster stock is a great stock that meets both standard and hunter.

HI All ,

The PHAR RT/split finger stock is designed for HUNTER specifications ...
McMillan / ANSCHUTZ copy is STANDARD rifle only !
IF you want to shoot BOTH ... you have to go HUNTER ;
WOOSTER , EVELIO , PHAR - ROBERTSON ... ETC ...

Not to beat an old horse to death, but was there ever a consensus on the Anschutz 54.18 non-thumbhole stock being a standard gun because of the grip only (meets all other hunter rules, asking about stock only)?

Because of the non tapered barrel and light trigger. The stock must resemble a hunter gun. I am not quite sure what the definition of that is.

The idea of using an ANSCHUTZ stock OR any copy for hunter is GOOD !
Perhaps with a tapered barrel AND the heavier trigger it could be used ???
Lets find out !

Over the years McMillan manufactured many different styles of silhouette stocks for both the Hunter class and the "Standard" Smallbore class.
There were different stock lengths and colors straight from McMillan for even the Hunter class.
A picture of the particular McMillan we are discussing would help.
Why limit yourself to two choices when Wooster, Rubio, and Merrier all make great stocks?
Then there is the new stock that doodaddy on this forum has recently introduced.
I would hold many different stocks at the matches to see which one feels best.

I ordered a stock and paid for it back in June 2017. He does not return calls, emails.
This has happened to multiple people.
