Single shot
Can a hunter silhouette rifle be a solid bottom action? Does it have to be a repeater?
Wondering why I couldn't find a used 14-19 series Ahg with 5078 trigger and use that as a basis with proper tapered barrel and after market stock.
Thanks,
Morgen

Re: Single shot
A single shot rifle can be used as a hunter class rifle. It does not have to be a repeater action.
I have an Anschutz model 54 match single shot action mounted in an after market stock. It is one of my hunter class smallbore rifles.

Re: Single shot
Yes you can, can use even the nice 5018 trigger with upgraded springs to meet the 2.0 lbs minimum.

Re: Single shot
For the past few years I have been shooting a Hunter class rifle built off of either a 1400 or 1600 series Anschutz. Never had any trouble passing pre-match tech. at any NRA match for Hunter class. I bought it from a friend who had it built many years ago. I do not know how they made the trigger fit but it has a brand new 5022 trigger on it, the 2 pound version of the 5018. Personally, if I ever had a new rifle built it would be using one of the more modern shorter custom actions.
