Re: Never see a Sako
Steve makes a hunter and standard stock of his own design. He also has a mold for a Pharr type hunter stock ( I just got one of these for a rem 40x single shot 22). I own 4 and am very happy with each of them.
Give him a call and I'm sure he'd be glad to answer your questions.

Re: Never see a Sako
Thanks Bigfoot I will give steve a call after my surgery. I was thinking of a McMillam stock. Also, I was going to email Russ at Stiller Precision about his new rimfire actions. He seems to be very excited about them. I was going to start a new thread and ask if any member purchased one. Most members seem to get an action job performed on their Anschutz, CZ or Remington.

I bought a 6x20efr plex from George 6 weeks ago, and I just mailed a check for another 6x20 dot last week. He has the best prices.

You just been looking in the wrong places!!!ter wrote:I never held a Sako 22, but I like the centerfires. I never recall seeing a 22 at a match. Why? They look good in a catalog, and I imagine they should shoot for the asking price. I was considering buying one even though I have a few Anschutz 1700s. Any experiences?
Sako Quad, I have all 4 barrels, Bonner has one as well.

Re: Never see a Sako
My opinion of the Quad
+ column
Out of the box accuracy at least as good as Anschutz, maybe better, less ammunition sensitive for certain.
If you wear a barrel out buy a new one and change it yourself in 2 minutes!!!
Nice action.
Adjustable trigger
Best ejector I've ever seen on any 22, throws them 4 ft away in a perfect little pile.
DIP make neat accessories for it.
Seems to shoot all the calibers very well.
- column
Trigger is good but not even close to an Anschutz 2-stage
Stock sucks unless your 10 years old
I find it easy to hit chickens and pigs, not so much turkeys and rams mainly because of the stock.
Keep in mind that I have the synthetic Quad, the wood stock gun probably holds much better.

Re: Never see a Sako
Kevinbear,
I spoke to a premier sako dealer about the quad hunter pro ( wooden stocks ) when I bought my nephew his rifle. The dealer informed me that hunter pro was not available in the USA even though it is listed on their website. Maybe the mcmillan rimfire magnum varmint can be inletted for the sako quad action?
