Mounting Williams Rear Peep Sight

I have a aftermarket 12" bull barrel with 6 tapped holes and would like to mount a Williams Peep Sight on it.
What is the best way to mount this?
Thinking about mounting a Picatinny Rail and drill and tap (2) 8-40 holes in it to mount the same Williams Sight That I have on my Marlin 336.
That way I could mount a scope to test loads. I have a Bond Hooded Front Sight.

Also
The rules say you cannot Extend the original sight radius by more than 1 inch
How far behind the back of the barrel can I extend the peep sight?

Thanks for any information you may have.

is that the Mason Sickle sight? Why do I waste money on Williams, Marble, Shaver and Redfield sights?

Although it's not on his website, Ken Light sells a short, Weaver style rib and Williams FP that mounts in place of the factory rear sight. That's what I'm using on mine, along with a Bond Front sight.

Also, Martens used to sell the same rear sight for the T/C, however I don't see it listed on his website now. Might contact him to inquire about it.

Larry,

No welding required, so it's not one of Mason's. =))
