Bore wipes

Post by Taps »

G'day All
So I got hold of some of the Bore "pigs" that Buffalo Arms sells. They work very well but I'm wondering what others are using for wetting them down. I used Hoppes #9 at a recent shoot, 2 x 40 shot matches, and while they worked well in the rifle, I'm having trouble cleaning the felts for use next time.

I use Napa water soluble cutting oil mixed 1 part to 7 parts water.

Thanks Don, I was going to try that and then I spoke with Dave Gullo, he told me that he uses M-PRO-7. Reckons it works really well and washes out easily. I've got a long range match next week-end, I'll try it out and let you know how it goes.

Yeah, tried that when I first started shooting BPCR. Just didn't like the rust that started to appear in the nooks and cranny's of my action.
