Louisiana state HP match in Zwolle.
Is there any body going to Zwolle that might be bringing a HP rifle in .260 Remington (1st choice) or either 7mm-08 (2nd choice) with a 2 stage trigger for sale? I might be looking. I will want to shoot it offhand and for groups to check accuracy. My e-mail is kgreen45@bellsouth.net Thanks Ken

I found a rifle, so now I don't need to look any longer. Ken

Ken as a safety never post your phone number except in a PM. You may want to edit that.

That is taking care of. Now I just need a 24 or 25 power scope for my 7mm-08 HP rifle.Another Dang 9 wrote:Ken as a safety never post your phone number except in a PM. You may want to edit that.

Same goes for your email...
I would not get a scope with that much power. Stick to the 24 as a max. You will find that 18X will be your high setting for rams. Anything over that and your wobble will drive you nuts.

My wobble area already drives me nuts.
I have all of my silhouette rifle scopes set on 24 power except for one. That one scope is a Weaver T-16. I wish that the T-16 scope was a T-24. I shoot at 24 power and plan on staying @ 24 power for HP also. I might be willing to trade the T-16 for a T-24 if the T-24 has a 1/2 minute dot.

Ken do yourself a favor and get a variable. I've been using the Weaver 6-24X 42 varminter they are cheap at $300. Most go all out and buy a Leupold at twice the price. Small bore the fixed powers are popular but HP variable is more popular. Check a shooters survey from a national event to see what others are using.

I looked at the Weaver 6-24X 42 varminter scope. I can not use that scope because it does not any target turrets. For silhouette, target turrets are a a must have for me.
I think the choice of using a variable power scope verse a straight (fixed) power scope is a choice that each shooter has to make for themself. The variable power scopes that I do use are set on 24 power and are left on 24 power. Since I put them on the rifles, I have not taken them off of 24 power. I will be putting a 24 or 25 power scope on my Sako HP rifle. There are several master class shooters in my club that hold one or more national championship titles. Most of them shoot a fixed power scope.
