Nosler bullets

Post by speedy »

Hello
Has anybody ever tried the Nosler 6.5, 123 & 140 gr custom competition bullets for this game? I currently use SMK's but will need more later this year, was just wondering how the Nosler's worked? Thank you

I am interested in Nosler Custom Competition bullets for my .308, I already have a Nosler reloading manual so I might as well start with their bullets, in 150 to 165 grains.

Any opinions?

Also, is there a difference in burn rate between IMR 4895 and Hodgsen 4895 power?

In my 7-08 it seems, with a limited amount of comparisons, that it takes about 1.6 - 2 grains more of the IMR to get the same velocity when loading full power loads... Other than that both powders appear to be excellent.

I shoot both in my Swedish target rifle, and just started working loads for my 6.6x55 Tikka. I like the bullets, more accurate than me.

Yes, these are not interchangeable. Take a look at a few reloading manuals. Try to stick to the recipes in the manual as closely as possible with respect to components. The starting charges are there for a reason. Be safe.

When it comes to reloading, I get real literal about the recipes. No substitutions, no guessing, no experimentation outside of min/max boundaries. I make enough mistakes without trying.

I shoot the Noslers 142 gr. in my .260 Rem. No issues knocking down rams when/if I hit them.
Oops my bad 140 gr. Noslers.
