Anyone here bought one of these triggers, the two stage?
Wondering if it would be a worthwhile upgrade from a single stage.
I like the Anschutz two stage on the 1712, comparable or not?

I have a timney 2 stage it's red and I don't think it's the calving elite but it has 1 pound on the first stage which I like. The first stage is not adjustable. I think the calvin elite is a much lighter trigger not suitable for silhouette

How light is too light for silhouette? My heavy 22 breaks at 3 oz.

I assumed the OP was referring to a Hunter rifle as a 1712 was mentioned... 2 lb triggers for Hunter..

I am curious to see what your thoughts are on it after you spend sometime with that trigger.

Got it today and put it on the gun, the trigger is a good bit bigger and the stock needs a little inletting to get it down into it.
Initially I'm a little lukewarm on it, first stage is not quite a pound, the adjustment screw is very sensitive, and it's a little inconsistent.
Of course all these measurements were taken with the action out of the stock and upside down, cycled less than 30 times.
Like nearly everyone else I'm comparing it to the holy grail of all two stage triggers, the Anschutz which may not be realistic.
That being said, having a nice safe two stage trigger with a second stage 1.2oz should be a vast improvement over the 40X trigger that I took out and a big improvement over most factory 700 triggers.
When I get a couple of hundred rounds through it I'll update this report.

I built a rem 700 over the winter and I used one of these triggers, I think they are great for the money.
They don't even come close to the anschutz trigger and they won't give the feel of the 2lb two stage cheater triggers for hunter class but they are a vast improvement over a factory Remington and just as good as some other aftermarket triggers costing hundreds more.

I shot 50 rounds through it today at Gary's farm on steel plates, I'll never go back to a single stage trigger.
This trigger if far from being an Anschutz trigger, the second stage has perceptible creep in it when watched from the side pulling it, it doesn't seem that bad when your actually shooting it though.
One thing that has me perplexed is that in spite of having the stock opened up wide enough in the trigger well to throw a cat through it the trigger rides over if I tighten the front trigger guard screw on the ADL stock, back it out a turn and it functions correctly.
fyi the stock/action is pillar bedded as is the trigger guard, I checked the length of the little screw and it sits well below where the bolt would contact it, nothing seems to even be close to touching it when put together , it's a mystery for now so I lock-tighted it a full turn out from contact.

Is this the only two stage trigger option for the Remington model 700?

Yes Dave, the good one is 500.00 dollars, the Timney I bought is 200.00, lots of folks out there that have spent less than 500 for there complete rifles.

$500 for a complete rifle? That seems awfully inexpensive to me; how is that even possible?

When I said complete rifle I meant stock, action, barrel and trigger, a factory 700 sporter. I've bought two 223's and three 7-08's for 400.00 or less. Dicks, wally world and other big box stores run specials on them.

I have to laugh when you consider people spend upwards of $2200 for an Anschutz 1712 but go the $500 route for a Remington 700. It strikes me as funny.
