Shooter Appreciation Match at CSLC!!

Post by 21step »

The 23rd of this month is the last High Power match for 2017 at Consolidated Sportsmens of Lycoming County range just north of Montoursville PA.

Instead of calling it a championship match we are now callling it a "shooter appreciation" match.

So most of the time when you get to shoot a 60 round match you end up paying more for entrance fee as well as a higher cost because of more rounds down range. This match will help ease the pain.

$5 per gun. No keychains, mugs, or bottle openers for awards; the award is the lower cost to shoot.

If we get a minimum of 20 guns we will have the setters paid for and the rest can be a bonus for them.

Bring all three guns if you like, heck bring all four. Bring your Standard, Hunter, M1/M1A and we'll even accomodate the AR's.

Practice begins at 8am and the match will start at 9:15am. We will have as many relays as needed to allow all to shoot as much as they want. There is no CLA match afterward so we can take our time and not have an "need to be done by" time.

Hope to see you there,
Adam

I agree Randy Ent! What a great idea. Almost makes a guy want to come out of retirement. For anyone who has never been to CSLC, what a great bunch of guys and ladies. Very accommodating and always a great time. Mark Varner

Plans are to have Pudgies pizza delivered for a bit of a "free to all" lunch snack. If we want to cease fire to eat or just eat when your not on the line we will see what people want to do.

Right now the weather people say high of 87 and low of 64 with partly cloudy. It should be decent but sure doesn't feel like fall yet. I hope to see lots of shooters Saturday!

We had 22 guns for the last match and some hot weather to go with. The morning started out kind of hazy and it was very difficult to see the bullets fly up to the Rams. The day went pretty well with no major issues. It seems that good help is hard to find as we were constantly waiting on the same target setters relay after relay. These kids today, frustrating. Needless to say one of them won't be asked to set targets again.

We had three 32 pc sheet pizzas delivered and there were only 7 pcs left at the end of the day so I would say that went over well.

High score for both classes was 34/60 so it was a challenging day but a rough day on the range is better than a good day at work ehh?

On a personal note my confidence is back up. My scores have been falling all season as I was fighting with that heavy barrelled Marlin XS7VH. I shot my 9Lb savage 260 and doubled my season average. The M1A did well downing 20/60 animals, some I could not even see. I just aimed where they were supposed to be on the rail and touched off.

See you all in Janurary!
