Re: Advice on Chronograph - 1st Purchase!
Another Dang 9,
The guy who throws his chronograph is one of those people who is a ambassador for the shooting sports. One of those guys who will lend you anything to keep you shooting and help anybody any way possible. Too bad he never took to standing silhouette. I think he was pleased with how his chronograph worked in this manner because throwing it out there appeared to be his standard operating procedure. Needless to say: no rods, no sunscreens. He probably lost those years ago.
Greg,
This incident happened many years ago but if I recall correctly it was the el cheapo all plastic ProChrono Pal. The absolute bottom of the price range for chronos. The story is true. It attracts attention when a person throws a chronograph downrange when most folks are just the opposite as in very careful with even the cheapest chronographs. I wish you all could have been there with me to see this because it was really bizarre.

I have a magnetospeed, and I would not go back to screens. Quick and accurate, no bad data.

Thanks again for all the input so far! Keep it going, I'm learning a bunch!
So, for you guys that own and use a Magnetospeed of various flavors. . .
Will they see a pellet from a 10m Target Rifle - going say 560 +/- fps?
Trying to get as much use from the chrono as possible!!!
Thanks,
ShootingStar

Re: Advice on Chronograph - 1st Purchase!
I have a Pro Chrono chronograph that I have used for around 15 years with out any problems. I also take very good care of it. I even have a light kit for it that I use inside to test pellets. I haven't had any problems reading pellets from my 10 meters rifles using the light kit. I am very pleased with it. Ken
