Another reloading question.

Is there a software out there that includes the reloading data from the various manufacturers? I just picked up some Hornady bullets and now I need reloading data for my .308.

Do I have to buy the book for every bullet manufacturer or is there software that compiles all of the different manufactures load data?

Thank you very much.

I quit buying all the manufacturers books long ago and now only buy the Hodgdon annual reloading magazine. It has Hodgdon,Winchester, and IMR powders and uses a variety of different bullets, also the latest calibers. All for$10 or less from Midway.
It’s not at every gun store, they would rather sell you the books,or don’t know about this item.

Many of the powder companies have reloading data online. Hodgons has a good one.

I'm pretty new to reloading as well. Most powder companies, as Al said, have data posted.

Nosler and Sierra have some manual pages posted online.

I used sierra's manual/pages and hogdon data since I was using H4350 and Varget.

How much difference is there in a 140 Hornady and a 140 Sierra? Not enough to be concerned about as long as you start with a light load and work your way up to an accurate load. There is more variation in the cases. Just trim a bunch to the same length and weigh them.

Load Books USA; One Book, One Caliber.
I've got one for every caliber I reload.

I use Varget powder, so the hodgdon site has an online book that has starting load data for just about everything I do.

http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

You might try there for one opinion, but you'll have to work up loads on your own anyways....

Quickload is software that compiles bullets from different manufacturers and powder from different manufacturers. I use it a lot and like it. It's comprehensive but also easier to make a mistake----you are doing the input---so you have to understand how to use the program and what it is telling you.

I tried a compressed load with my Varget and after the first round the bolt got very hard to open. I don’t think I will shoot the rest.
I got the bolt open, a little persuasion with a hammer and a block of wood was required.

It is all good now.

Why would you even try a compressed load? :-\

Sierra just launched an online reloading app. It’s on the App Store.
