6.5 fodder

More expensive to feed, but worth it.

6.5 fodder

Post by mordecai »

My squad members and I were all shooting ~139-141gr 6.5mm bullets this weekend and we each had two ringers at rams. My two were fairly solid. One was a bit low on the belly, but square. The other was right on the hind-quarter. The others were on the head, at the base of the horn at the nape and high-center back.

Now, was this just a bad day? Did the setters just have the rams loaded too far forward? Or is this fairly common with ~140gr fodder?

Another shooter remarked that some had tried 155gr 6.5mm MKings but that they went back to 140's.

Just curious on anyone's experiences or observations.

Sorry i miss the match but if it is raining they will
stick to the bases.
Steve has stops welded to the ram rails so they are
all set as close as they can be to the same.
But everyone will lose one at some time or another.

Well now that makes sense. Good info to have!

Does that mean you guys load "rain loads" for those wet days at the range? :D

My pal and I both got Swede Sporters from Century about 94. Shooting the same load, he ringed a few rams but every ram I hit went down. You are a little marginal sometimes if you are using a 6.5 X 55.
