Most popular calibre

What's the most popular calibre in High Power. I've heard of several people using the 260 Rem and 7mm-08. Are the 6mm's with 105 gr bullets too small to consistently knock over rams?

7MM-08 seems to be the favorite around here

I have had zero issuies with 150's pushing the rams off, others like a little bit more....

In a couple of years I think the Lapua 6.5x47 in its original form or necked up to 7mm will be quite popular.

I've seen everything from 6mmbr through to 8x68 used. I think the idea is use what you've got and get into it. Once you have seen and I'm sure if you asked tried a variety of different cartridges make your mind up what's best for you. Here in Australia we have some of our best using all sorts, one of the two shooters who tied for National Champion still uses a .308. The other one shot for a long time with a 6x45. Just go out and enjoy.
