Remington 700 action weight
I had all this info saved but can't find it now. Does anyone know the weight of a Remington 700 ADL short action with magazine box, follower, trigger and recoil lug? Thank you in advance. Mark Varner

I used the following for estimating weights which worked well for me:
http://www.brownprecision.com/SelectingComponents.htm
The site lists 2#3.5oz for the ADL.
My rifles weighs 8#11oz with: Rem 700ADL, std Brown stock no pillars, #4HS krieger, Farrel 2pc base, Zee rings, 18oz scope, Gre-Tan firing pin assembly. jewel HV trigger, alum ADL trigger gaurd.
What caliber are you chambering? I'm tempted to give the 6x47 a try next time because of shorter OAL, lapua brass, and balistics similar to 260 and 6.5x55. Downside is a different bolt face than 260. Another option is to use the 260 w/an extended box from:

Good luck.

Rich,
The 6.5 x 47 Lapua uses the same bolt face as the 260 remington. I have a few pieces of the Lapua brass and plan on building one for next year.
Good luck, Paul
